Live Foaling Cam

Whooo! I tuned in just in time!

Damn! The feed stopped! Did they turn it off?

Meanwhile, at Glenhill cam 1 there are people in there checking Cassie’s udders and spreading straw! Which is exciting because a couple of hours ago the Glenhill person posted this on the Mare Stare board: “No straw down yet. I am not falling for that trick. I have a bale sitting by the door so if she looks close then I will be ready. Lots of wax with milk dripping.”

ETA! Yikes! They just turned on the sound!

Crap! I sure hope it’s not another risky delivery. I was shocked at the number of ANGEL COLTS on the Mare Stare 2010 births thread. (And goodness me but they are fond of bouncing, rolling, praying, cheery little smilies over there.)

They’re back to the 4 cameras at the same time. Looks like Susie calmed down quite a bit, particularly after they mucked out her stall.

Just checked in on Heavenly Horse Haven. The cam’s back up, and the blurry feed shows what looks like the same mare lying down, so she’s alive. I don’t see any sign of a foal, though. :frowning:

Wait! She just stood up, and is that a foal in the bedding beyond her? I think so! I can hardly make it out, but I think it is! I think it got up! YES!!!

Just heard a voice at Glenhill – “High alert, her water broke.”

Just tuned in at 12:30 in time to hear someone say “High alert, her water broke.” and to see her lay down.

Eta: aha, you’re watching too then.

Cassie is delivering NOW at Glenhill Cam 1 !!!

I haven’t caught one of these before - that IS a foot, isn’t it?

I like the, um, …midwife? coach?

Oh my. Here it comes!

AW!!

Awesome, baby’s out and moving!

Filly! Three socks and a blaze, dark bay.

Yep, first one front foot, then the other, is what you want to see.

That’s so awesome, I’ve not seen that before! Are they leaving the blanket on the baby to keep her warm, or to transfer scent from the humans so she’s familiar with them?

Get up little horsie!

Thought so. I was just surprised my timing was so good.

Oop, she’s trying!

No, all four socks. Mom’ s up, loving on her baby.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

“Mo-o-om, stop!”
