Live Foaling Cam

Looks like they turned off the camera. Hope everything is okay.

Shadow is in trouble. The cam feed’s just been cut. I have a very bad feeling about this.

Oh no! I hope she’s okay.

She appeared to be carrying all on one side. I wonder if it’s breach?

Guess this is what I get when I’m gone so long – I miss all the good stuff and come in just in time for the (potentially) bad stuff. :frowning:

Godspeed, Shadow.

Yeh, sucks, huh? But look in on Pacific Pintos – that new little man is RAMBUNCTIOUS.

I had Shadow’s cam up earlier, but now I can’t get it to come up! Drats!
Busy night tonight…
EDIT: Now I see you guys’ posts… I hope ll is well for Shadow &^ Baby…

The woman working on Shadow stood up. The mare was just lying there, not pushing. The cam went black. I think they cut the feed because it’s going badly.

I’ve been up since 5 AM so I am beat, heading to bed. I’ll say a little prayer for Shadow… hope there is good news in the morning.

I’ve been having internet issues for a couple weeks now. Hopefully it’s fixed and I can resume watching horses. I hope Shadow’s okay.

StG

Camera is back on, Shadow is up and blanketed, but no foal. :frowning:

She still looks pregnant to me, but what do I know?

The Mare Stare message board has titled Shadow’s thread “Angel Colt” so I guess the little guy didn’t make it.

I’m glad mom is okay, though.

I really hoped both would make it, but at least Shadow’s OK. These wee ones frighten me. So much can go wrong so quickly…It’s the main reason why I decided to never breed one of my little Papillon girls.

Della at Glenhill (cam 3) had a beautiful filly this morning. Damn, I’ve been watching her for ages! When I knocked off around midnight last night she was still just standing there.

Oh, well, it must have just happened a short while ago; Della’s still got afterbirth hanging out of her and the filly’s still getting the wobblies out of her legs – which have stockings in front. Glenhill says Cassie on cam 1 is getting closer. Remember, that’s the cam that sometimes has sound – loud sound. Also chickens, like right now.

Abyss’s little man Twister is a vigorous feeder!

Two I’ve been following, Night Sky and Premier Friesians, are still waiting for their mares to pop.

Night Sky and Premier Friesians are still waiting. Here are a couple we haven’t been following before, with good cam feeds and gorgeous mares due soon:

Olympia at Imajica Dutch Warmbloods – her due date is May 18, but she’s in the foaling stall now. This is the foal’s sire – not too shabby, eh?

Then there’s Still Raining (Skye) at Six Pound Farm. Today’s note on the Mare Stare board about her is: “Skye had waxcicles this morning, and she is at 329 days today. She foaled last year at 334, so she’ll be moving into the Foaling Suite starting tonight.” Right now as I post this the stall is still empty, waiting to be bedded and mared. A lovely big airy stall it is, too.

At Glenhill, cam 3 is on Della and her gorgeous filly. On cam 1 there’s Cassie the weaver. Some good pictures of her, and of her foal’s sire, in her thread at Mare Stare.

It seems to be a still-shot right now. I spent some time watching the link from the OP, and mama and baby were so adorable, I kept reading, hoping to find another one I could see. I got excited when I saw the link to Shadow. How sad for her (do horses understand sadness? I think they do, but hope they don’t).

I’ve got Cassie on right now. She seems anxious. Any idea how close she is? I love the chickens!

Thanks for these links. Maybe I’ll get to see one after all!

I’d keep an eye on Pacific Pintos; they’ve got the cam solely focussed on number 1, Susie, right now, instead of on all four screens, so they must think she’s showing signs. Right now she’s pacing around and around and tossing her head – could be signs that foaling is near.

ETA: Posted at Mare Stare about Cassie at Glenhill: “Cassie is dripping milk and has wax, should be tonight.”

Watching now. Thanks, EddieTeddyFreddie!

Here’s another thing to note: For the first time since I started watching her, Cassie on Glenhill cam 1 has her tail wrapped. Those folks are pros, so I’d take that as a good sign that she’s close.

ETA: Oh, almost forgot: I called Joanne about Susie at Pacific Pintos – we’ve become Internet friends over her last few foalings. She said Susie was probably pacing and head-tossing because she was pissed that Joane had taken her neighbors out of the barn but not her.

She did say also, though, that Susie’s udder is hard, which means foaling is not far off.

Also said that Abyss’s foal Twister set records at her farm for getting up, getting ambulating, and getting to running around the stall – and this after a hard birth. He’s a little powerhouse!

I’ve been watching Susie for 3 hours now. She seems like she REALLY wants that baby out of her! LOL

Looks like there’s a foaling getting going right now at Heavenly Horse Haven.

ETA! Oh, yeh, it’s happening!
