Live Journal Dopers: Haiku Tuesday?

A few months back, a group of my co-workers and I started sending silly little haikus to each other every Tuesday via email to relieve some of the stress of deadline day (we work for a weekly newspaper).

It soon became known as “Haiku Tuesday.”

In addition, one of my co-workers has a Live Journal and she commented several times about Haiku Tuesday in various entries. She’d also include in her Tuesday entries several haikus, it being-- well, Haiku Tuesday.

Since she first posted about Haiku Tuesday a few months ago, she’s noticed several of her friends have also picked up on the weekly tradition, and they’ll post haikus in their Tuesday entries.
But more notably, she’s seen several total strangers that have picked up on the whole Haiku Tuesday thing, and are now doing it themselves.

So, I’m curious, have any of you Dopers with Live Journals heard of Haiku Tuesday as well? I’d like to know if, in the course of browsing the Journal entries, you’ve come across “Haiku Tuesday.”

Nope, haven’t heard of it.

But then I quit using LJ. It sucks.

I’m strictly an OpenDiary gal.

I’ve never, ever heard of Haiku Tuesday at LJ…

I’ve never heard of it either.

Never heard of it on LJ, no!
(But who here has a LJ?)

Oh, there’s a whole bunch of us…look back at some of the archived threads in this forum and in MPSIMS…

I have one, but I don’t do poetry. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have rather less poetic talent than the average Vogon.

Fair enough & thanks, y’all. Now I can smugly go back and tell this co-worker that she really isn’t as powerful and influential as she thinks.

The twit.

I hadn’t heard of it, but do you mind if I steal the idea? It sounds cool, and haiku is always so much fun.

Five syllables, then
Seven, then five syllables.
Blah blah fucking blah.

Mind? Knock youself out.
Haiku Tuesday is truly
Holiday for all.
