Local commercials are so freaky

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Eesh. We were watching something on the news about how the main industries NOT being hit by the recession (and in fact GROWING) are alcohol, fast food, healthcare and the funeral industry; so you MAY be right about that one!

The pelvic thrusts are going to give me nightmares. Thanks a lot.

I’m sure if you’ve watched TV in Indianapolis, you know about Don of Don’s guns, creppy laugh and all:

He doesn’t want to make money, he just likes renting (or selling) you guns!

I was in a small town in Nebraska a while back and was surprised to see local ads for national chains like Burger King and Bank of America. I don’t think I’ve seen the like anyplace else.

God, that guy’s been doing those ads, exactly in that style, for at least 15 years. The eye-popping, the camera zooms, the strange switch in pitch, all unchanged.

Guess it’s working?

More b/c he’s local than anything else, I would imagine. We love our Mom & Pops.

From the “Chicagoland” area, I give you: Victory Auto Wreckers:

I am so pissed off that I wasn’t first in to tell you that it’s just like, it’s just like, a mini-mall! I love what YouTube has done for us to expand our horizons beyond our own crappy local car lot commercials.

I dearly love this parody of local commercials (NSFW).

Watching less than one minute of this commercial already has this annoying tune caught in my head.:dubious:

Good lord! I remember that commercial from when I was a kid!

You know those E*trade commercials with the talking baby? The local KIA dealership is running commercials that basically rip off that premise, but their animation of the baby’s mouth is really poor. It’s not smooth and seamless and it looks really unnatural.
