Do these people have any idea how gross the Logie Award sounds?
The Logie Awards (officially the TV Week Logie Awards; colloquially known as The Logies) is an annual gathering to celebrate Australian television, sponsored and organised by the magazine TV Week. I guess the Aussies don’t know a loogie is what you cough up from the back of your throat and spit a few feet away. Snot + saliva
I’ve hocked up a few loogie’s worthy of awards before.
Ok, we add an extra o. But, isn’t Logie pronounced the same as Loogie?
No it isn’t.
The first syllable is pronounced “low,” not “loo.”
Australians are well aware of what a loogie is.
The awards are named after this guy .
This thread is ridiculous.
Yes, and “aceplace57” is gross, because it sounds like “ass place 69.” What are you, in 3rd grade?
Having a bit of fun on a boring night.
I’ve never heard Logie pronounced before. I’ve always read it as Loogie and chuckled. I like the Three Stooges and fart jokes too. It’s better to laugh in this screwed up, miserable world then cry.
Now I know how Logie is pronounced and don’t have to guess.
However you pronounce it, I’m sure it’s a great honor and nothing to spit at.
Whyfor you throw heavy things at my head?

I’m an American, and something that happens in another country reminds me of something a bit gross if I mispronounce it. Haw, haw, haw.

Fortunately I know that most Americans don’t fit this moronic stereotype.
