I’m sure they’re trying to catch Osama, they just aren’t going to put out a news release every day that they don’t.
And when they do, it won’t stop it, but I’m sure it will help.

Why will it even help? Why won’t the cells that carry out attacks such as Bali and Madrid, and possibly the cell that attacked London, just carry on as before?
But still… HE DID 9/11!!! Don’t we just want to catch him, you know, because?
So you’re assuming he’s just sitting in the cave drawing pictures on the wall?? I don’t I’m sure he’s involved in one way or the other, and if he’s gone, that’s one less person, one less icon, one less very visible person.
[QUOTE=The Big Cheeseif he’s gone, that’s one less person, one less icon[/QUOTE]
Re-read that, please.
Or maybe re-read this!
***icon *- One who is the object of great attention and devotion; an idol: “He is… a pop icon designed and manufactured for the video generation” (Harry F. Waters).
Yea, sorta. may not be the best word, but you probably know what I’m saying. You don’t really think things will be more difficult if he’s caught, do you??
Sorry, gotta run.
And my love goes out to all in London. I was there 2 weeks ago, and know you’ll bounce back if you haven’t already.
So if AQ was behind this attack, then logic suggests that Britain should get their people out of Iraq and focus their resources on going after them right?
Because catching Osama will send the message that if you fucking attack us, we’ll globally hunt your ass down like a dog and put a bullet in your ass. Perhaps after we dispose of a few “replacement Osamas”, people won’t be too eager to replace him. It won’t hurt. As Max said, we need to get him on principle. Iraq is a total fucking waste.
It took just a few hours; today Rush Limbaugh was blaming this on liberals and the French.
I love it when I get to drive in the USA. There’s nothing that can get your mind off reality like conservative talk radio.
The world is a sick place and I’m sorry we’re all a part of it.
And hey, maybe when we capture Osama, we might find some intel which helps us shutdown some of the cells. Let’s not forget that on 9/11 their methods were so sloppy that it didn’t take long for us to snag folks involved in the plot, the same with Madrid, so if bagging Osama can save even one life, I’d say it was worth it.
Sneer? I would like to do more than sneer. I would like to wipe that goddamned smirk off his moronic face. I’d like to kick him off his horse and belabor his backside until he cries for mercy. He is an incompetent idealogue who spouts outdated and dangerous rhetoric. You condemn another Doper’s “naivete” but fail to see the naivete inherent in the neo-con ideology. Nobody hates us because we’re free; it is not unpatriotic to question your leaders, especially when they lie–want me to go on?
I fault Bush and his “team” of power-hungry, conscienceless mongers for all of this. They squandered the massive worldwide support post 9/11 with ridiculous taunts of “bring it on” and “we’re gonna smoke 'em out”–Bush channelled every bad John Wayne movie out there. Rustlers, my ass. Give me a real leader, please, not some flight-suit wannabe. I am thankful that at least UK has a leader who won’t put an effing chip on his shoulder and dare the terrorists to knock it off.
Cowboys are shabby, inarticulate men with poor social skills, difficulty following directions and taking advice(aka drifters and loners)–but by all means, follow your cowboy, and his myth.
The rest of us would like some justice in the world to garner some peace. We would like to address world poverty and hunger–two elements that foster despair and terrorism. We would like to make some progress on these problems because we can see the links between elements. Sadly, your cowboy couldn’t find a connection at a switchboard–but please, by all means, keep siinging his praises–afterall, if you repeat something often enough, it starts to sound like the truth.
Me, I gonna go get some duct tape and put myself on Red Alert–there, I feel safer already. Thanks, George, for all you do.
Here’s hoping the Brits and MI-5 have a better handle on things.
It’s up to us to make it a better place.
The world could only be considered a sick place if we members of the global community are not fussed by what has happened in London (and other parts of the world at different times in history).
That we are outraged shows that the world is a fundamentally healthy place inhabited by good people.
There’s just a few baddies who need to be given a lesson in Humanity Studies 101.

If your going to start making sense I’m afraid you’ll have to leave this thread.
So their saying Zarqawi might have done it. Oh sweet christ I can’t believe they’re going to link AQ and Iraq to this shit. These are some bold motherfuckers.
Because people’s pensions, their life, are invested in shares that are directly affected by what happens to the stock market?
Quietly, I think that the UK government is quite pleased with what has happened. They can now push their Orwellian security laws and ID cards through Parliament. What Minister will be able to argue against laws protecting us all from terrorism?
It’s the big break that they’ve been waiting for.
I (sadly) think you’re probably right. At the risk of sounding melodramatic, the world changed on September 11th, and not for the better. The personal freedoms we all took for granted were horribly abused by misguided, hate-filled people, and now the rest of the world will lose them. The politicians will make all kinds of hay with this now.
