Long time in the MMP

Another lovely day in no. Illinois. Wind advisory. 40 mph with gusts up to 50. I made homemade from scratch for the barn manager’s birthday so have to deliver them today. Then Imma coming home and slothing. I will watch the beginning of the Oscars because I want to see Brian May and Roger Taylor. Meh about Adam Lambert.

The big-ass hole in our back yard was turning into a pond, but the rain has finally stopped and the water is gradually being absorbed in the nasty clay-filled soil that comprises much of this county. We walked out to look at it, and the lawn area squished greatly underfoot. C’mon sun!!!

Happy Sunday!

I just got my wifi connection restablished after 45 minutes attempting to / talking to AT&T. I just wasn’t up to squinting to read stuff on my phone.

Not a lot shaking at CasaRoja today. I’m going to make a crock of beef and barley stew hear momentarily and then do the usual Sunday chores.

Morning all. The sun has finally made a re-appearance after 4 days of rain, so hopefully things will begin to dry out. 51F in N. Ali-bama, but that’s about as warm as its’ going to get her today.

Need to start getting ready for Spring youth soccer here, I am in charge of the 7U girls division, we have 38 6-year olds signed up so far, but only three coaches, so I need to get to work on recruiting coaches.

But first, I need to forage for sustenance.

Butters, Afib is what my brother has, he was in the hospital for that exam when he had his mild stroke, so they need to make sure all the clots are gone before they get him ready to shock. Hope it goes well for hubby.

wet one, don’t get blowed over…

FCM, I’ve done that more times than I can count (not opening a new tab and losing something). It has improved my cursing ability, however…

swampy, “tree orgy”? Please expound, good sir.

TB, I guess flowers are not an option?

All y’all have a good day now.

metalmouse this time it’s not the shocking but an ablation. It’s where catheters are inserted through the veins into the heart and the electrophysiologist burns nerve pathways to do away with the bad electrical activity and effectively cure the AFib. Hubby is on blood thinners because clots are the main thing to avoid while in AFib. Just to be sure they will do a trans esophageal scope to look for clots first. The ablation is a cure. He had it once several years ago but it sometimes takes twice to get all the nerves causing the misfiring. Millions of people live with AFib constantly but hubs can’t live with it. We gotta get it fixed.

It is a lazy day here. Hubby is actually home today trying to rest. The increase in his rhythm medicine makes him very tired. The Dr. said he may be able to completely get off that medicine in time.

Happy Sunday all!

Afternoon all,

Day of Slobbage here, which I reckon I needed. It’s not been all that slobby, by my standards; I did walk to the shop and get some stuff to make pesto with the wild garlic I picked yesterday (spring is coming, really!), which shall become part of a homemade sourdough pizza later. I’ve also made a start on the writeup for my placement (what I done on my work experience, by Nuts, age 30-mumble). It’s part of a module, not due in for a month or so, but it’s best to get as much down while it’s fresh as possible.

Speaking of vee-hicle buying, I reckon I’ll be doing same shortly. Poor car is starting to make some funny noises, especially at slower speeds. It’s also getting a few electrical ‘quirks’, and getting 'em fixed would be more than the value of the car. I hope it lasts til Easter, ‘cos then I can head up the ol’ stomping grounds, where there’s more choice and I have more knowledgeable friends.

If I had a dog I would not want to have named him Toto; we’re getting sustained winds over 50 for solid blocks of time today. Our high was around 11 at 57 degrees and tonight is expected to be 30 degrees. I an soooo glad this isn’t Kansas.

Happy Sunday!

It’s fairy nice outside today. I went out for a bit and talked to the neighbors on the other side.

I’m getting some things done today. I started sorting through old papers, creating much trash.
I’ve been flushing an enzyme drain cleaner and while we still have a clog, the ‘water’ is draining slowly. The drain cleaner says to flush a quarter of the bottle every day for four days, I have been doing half a bottle twice a day. If we get to a point where I am not afraid of it bubbling back up into the sink, I am going to use some heavy duty main cleaner.

I need some chocolate.

I put dinner on, forgot about it, and almost burned it.

My son is getting ready to take his test, I’m trying to figure out what to do with the dog.

Alien, I would put tape over the camera but I don’t want to create a problem for my son.

Good luck to {{{Mr Butters}}}

Big ball of fire has appeared in sky! And the peasants rejoiced!! It’s a bit breezy - mebbe it’ll help dry thing faster?

I just finished creating a model of the heat sink in Creo - apparently it’s still active on my computer, so yay! Earlier, I built a couple of meatloaves - one for supper tonight, one in the freezer. Daughter and SIL just left to fetch Roxy from her other grandmother’s.

I’m about to assume the recliner position for some chillage.

I had to move the car because bricks were being blown out of the neighbor’s chimney ------ about 25 yards away from where I was parked. :smack: Now that is what I call a gust.

Got up about 4:30 this am to pee. Pups decided they needed to pee then too so I took them outside. It was snowing great big silver dollar sized flakes. It stopped around 8 though and now it’s pretty much melted.
Anyway, when we all got back into bed Gibbs started to have a meltdown, so I got up and sat in the recliner with him to let Wifey sleep. We fell asleep a little after 8. He started again a few minutes ago and now he’s sitting on my lap as I try to type.

Annoyance of the day: Paypal has decided they no longer want to accept my credit card. They say to check my info, which hasn’t changed, but don’t supply any other clues as to what’s wrong. I’ve checked it 3 times. Scroom! I never liked them anyway, but this means no more E-bay for me. I don’t like them either, but they’re one of the few places to find old electric train stuffs. Oh well, I was turning into a hoarder anyway.

Catch y’all on the other side.

That’s one helluva Big Bad Wolf!

ruble, that is windy!

butters, I hope everything goes well tomorrow.

When I stepped out to Walgreen’s, I popped into BargainHunt for a few minutes and bought a patio umbrella. The original store price tag was $49, they had it marked at $25 and a 20% off sale, bringing it down to $20. I will now be able to read on my patio this afternoon.

When I got home, I took Nelson to the dog park for a few minutes. Most of the main park was closed because of the creek overflow and the soccer fields being under water, but the dog park part is on slightly higher ground and wasn’t bad. He ran and played with the cutest Australian shepherd pup, so hopefully he’ll not be so nutsy tonight.

Beef and barley soup, corn muffins and colomorbus for supper.

back in December my sister bought me a cell phone, a simple flip phone. I have barely used it so today I took it to her house and we played around with it, so I could learn how to use it. I added contacts for several folks, and even learned it has a camera!

So now I guess I will start carrying around and actually using it. One more Luddite converted to modern technology.

The sun will come out [del]tomorrow[/del]today…” then the wind picked up. But it did get up to 63.

Good luck butters and hubby!

suns been out this weekend but another storm is coming supposedly ……not much happened this weekend except a minor tiff over what I ordered for dinner Saturday…
