Ran slow today, was first loser instead of first. Hope it was the wake up call to get my arse back in shape.
Doggio, envy me, Imma gonna sit in a handegg stadium… in the rain tonight. This’ll be the fourth place I’ve seen a home game.
Just got another recall notice on the Sonata. I really should call and get all this recall crap taken care of. Remind me to call on Moanday. *AND NOT TILL MOANDAY!!! *
Still raining. Roxy seemed to enjoy her class, according to her mom. There were 10 kids ranging from 7 months to 3 years - quite the challenge for the teacher. The big thing I want her to get out of it is no fear of water and being able to do some rudimentary swimming. But if she’s like her mom, she’ll be a little fish in no time.
**FCD **is napping, so I think I shall work on some punkin’ wigs for a while.
Hmm, either everyone is out doing Saturday things, or too depressed by the weather to type anything into the MMP…
Well, I have completed nappage and am debating about eating an early dinner (I have a Logan’s Roadhouse coupon, but more bad weather is in Mississippi and heading this way).
FCM, is it for something physical that they’ll be doing to the car, or just computer updates? Took them 45 minutes to load software last time I was in the shop.
Spidey, you’ll always be first loser in the MMP community…
Howdy Y’all! Been pretty much a slothful day which is fine by me. We had late N.O.L./early sup an hour ago. Any need to feed will be via forage for the rest of the day. Days like this are great. Just the two of us and no need to be anywhere.
CupCakes the service should be great to be a part of but the usher in me shudders at the thought. The poor ushers, and I am sure there will be many, will be on the run the whole time. Don’t blame ya for parkin’ so as to make a getaway. I suggest you bring a cushion from home, along with snacks and a cooler for drinks. I envision a service of at least three hours and that’s if it gets hurried along. Then again, durin’ a service like that, one could get up, go to a nice restaurant, have a seven course leisurely meal, come back and pretty much still be there in time for Communion.
Better yet, camp out over night just to be the first one in a pew. Tell everybody who comes in after you were first. It’s good to be juvenile! Bishop Curry was at Honey Creek, our Diocesan retreat, last January but I did not go. The idea of a six hour round trip on a bus to sit in a tent for two to three hours (really, they set up a huge tent on the grounds) just did not appeal. Like you I’ve only heard him preach on the teevee a couple of times.
**MetalMouse **- one of the recalls is something to do with the airbags, and the other is some sort of engine monitoring technology, so I’m guessing part software, part hardware. The dealership is really close to work, but I don’t think they offer the courtesy rides as early as I have to start.
Just (finally) tossed a load of jeans in the washer. Roxy is spending the night with her other grandmother, so daughter and SIL are having a date night. We had a late lunch and neither of us is much interested in supper - it’ll be a night of random foraging.
I didn’t get much done today. I sat down and fell asleep.
Only one more thing to transfer from the old computer and I can’t figure out how to do it.
I’m still looking into getting a fan for the old one.
I finally downloaded the software he needs to take his test and found out that the software records him and I guess part of the room while he is taking the test to make sure he isn’t cheating.
There was one recently where they wanted to replace the airbags, IIRC. Hope it wasn’t that one. That might take a while.
Does it use the camera? Better make sure everybody has clothes on when he takes it then. Or not, depending on how much you want to mess with his teachers.
I’m mildly disappointed, but not surprised. Wifey and I stopped at the store to get french toast makin’s on account of we might have snow this coming week, and as we were standing in line to check out I spotted a bag of Bit-O-Honeys on the rack, but the name on the bag wasn’t one I recognized, but I figured for $.75 it was worth taking a chance. Well, they were pretty good, but, as I recall, Bit-O-Honeys tasted of honey and had bits of peanuts in 'em. These didn’t. They just tasted of sugar and a little bit like peanuts. I couldn’t detect any honey at all. Also, the originals could extract loose fillings. Not these ‘upgraded’ versions.
Another icon of my youth ruined.
bumba, my last car was under the Toccata airbag recall. Toyota took two weeks to get me in and get it changed out. My manager, OtOH, spent six months getting GM to replace hers. They paid for car rental for the duration, but it was a PITA because they would only cover her as the driver and occasionally, her husband needed the full sized car to ferry the kids.
Took a field trip to Home Depot for some strong button magnets and to get Nelson out of the house. It’s amazing that the craft store wanted $9 for two of these (they’re the really strong ones for my stamp press) and they were $3 and change at HD. There were big dogs, little dogs and in between dogs in there, given that the poor puppers haven’t had much of an opportunity to spend time outside for a couple of weeks. It’s official now: Stewart Creek has jumped its banks.
metal mouse and george, stay dry!
We made the trek to the mainland yesterday. All freaking day in the car for a ten minute appt. I was not amused. Anyway, hubby is going to have another ablation to hopefully finally cure the AFib. It’s kinda what we expected. He had it done once several years ago but sometimes it takes another go at it. We are waiting to hear from the Dr. that preforms it. He is an electrophysiologist.
I have been lazy today just getting caught up on some sleep. Tomorrow I have chores and laundry. I expect we shall be back in Miami before the week is out. Last time it was just one night in horsepistol. I must remember to bring winter clothes and a blanket. I remember nearly freezing to death in that cardiac unit. I guess they keep it so cold to retard germ growth. I shan’t make that mistake again.
Happy weekend all!
And then we can change their Mumper name to Stumpy?
The more I think about this and start the first steps, the more I realize just how much crap I have. Did you know I have an entire night-stand drawer full of pocket knives? I didn’t. Well ----- I did. But its one we use in the spare room as a general file so I really wasn’t comprehending just how full it had become. I’ve mentioned the Soviet pins before; it turns out I have several Soviet officers dress daggers as well. :smack: And it keeps growing.
He’s just nutty enough to cut it?
Did the event for Slippery Rock today; no Pisano this year. But it was cold and wet again. Other than that -------- FIRST!!!
Sunday morning here. My wife is in a really pissy mood today. I’m doing everything to avoid being around her.
Worked, came home. Canes won again. Now if the Flyers could do us a solid. :waves at Spidey :
:dubious: Something you want to tell us, Tovarisch?
Sorry, TB.
Hope your wife gets to feeling better, TB.
Ruble I spent some time at Slippery Rock a long time ago. I remember it fondly.
Have fun Cupcakes!
Good luck to your hubby Butters. My mom is supposed to get the procedure, but she doesn’t wanna. It sounds like it might not be so bad. I shall gently encourage her AKA nag her to take care of her health.
Sunny. I say she should do it. The first time hubby had it done he felt so great for a few years. It’s to the point now that he is looking forward to having it done. It’s really not that big a deal. Just the idea of it is hard to comprehend but the procedure itself is not that big a deal.
Yeah — my family beat them damn Reds in the end! Long live the Tsar!
(actually we joke now but ------- when Dad got called back into active service for the Korean War, they wouldn’t let him out but they kept him in New Jersey mostly. Someone with close relations in the Soviet Union who had served in the Chinese Air Force ----------- yeah, lets keep him somewhere where we can watch him. Close.) :smack:
I did a lot of different things with the late Dr. Dixon over the years and this weekend was one of those things he originally roped me into. Its an odd little event, the weather always sucks, but its grant money and while not a great payday its better than break even. And unlike most public events we went the entire day without a single seriously dumb question.
Which fan is dying? Case, power supply, CPU?
Black tape is a security measure for the spying software.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and cloudy (well, dark) with a predicted high of 73 with rain this mornin’ and cloudy this afternoon. A cool front is movin’ in on us. Tonight’s low will be 40 Amurrkin! Looks like several days of rain shall also occur over the next week. We shall see. Today we deheathenate and then back to da cave. N.O.L. and sup shall be sammiches and chips. The annual tree orgy is also crankin’ up a little more.
Twuck has an airbag recall from Ford. I have not done anything about it cause I’m considerin’ a new vehicle maybe in the next six months. Twuck is almost ten years old, after all. Don’t know what I want and haven’t done a lot of explorin’ as to vehicles as of yet.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, purtification for deheathenization must commence.
Happy Sunday Y’all!
I hate when I pick a bookmark and don’t “Open in New Tab” - dammit! I had a post mostly written and wanted to check something to add, and there went my post. dammit.
Anyway, rainy like crazy here, tho it’s supposed to end by noon. It’s not going to get as warm as originally forecast, either. Don’t know when the foundation work can resume, so our new building is in limbo. Much frustration for FCD.
Today’s plans start with breakfast out. Then other stuff. I think my coworker is coming over to see the shop and talk to FCD. Mostly, I guess we’ll just wing it.
Onward! Happy Sunday!!
FCM we had a lotof rain last night too but it never got quite cold enough locally to turn into snow. I find as I age I am less tolerant of cold weather, and I am beginning to long for warmer weather.
