Generally semi-adulting. With needing space for the housework we’re going to need, we need to downsize. So our plans are to do a couple flea-markets or such this spring. I’m starting to asses just how many bad horror movies I want to keep, how many meat cleavers, and just why did I ever get those creepy buffalo statues in the first place. With what we just donate and all we’re talking easily 4 car loads and a whole lot of extra change in our pockets when we’re done ------ come October. Yeah – I plan long-term.
Howdy Y’all! I am done adultin’ for the day except to get sup ready which one could say is not really all that adult as it will be steak sammiches and oven fries. Until then sloth ensues.
Sari I like your friend’s idea. ![]()
Juliet might I suggest this for your nails?
I can’t show that to my daughter… she’d want it!
I keep mine simple. Some sort of classic red or pink. Maybe I’ll go crazy and get some sparkly nail polish as a top coat!
Ruble, I will buy three (or more) of those cleavers for any Mumper who wants to take up juggling.
Wrong response. Correct response is, “I will if you will.”

Afternoon all. Got up this morning and it was still raining. Rained all morning and we’re still getting a few drops, but radar looks like it is finally clearing. Ground is soaked and some streams are out of their banks, but I haven’t seen any closed roads yet.
Thanks for the kind thoughts, did my shopping and bill paying early today, been vegetating since then.
doggio, I brought back kind feelings and an empty gas tank (did 414 miles in 5:58 with one short pit stop for White Castles in Nashville).
Sari, stay on their case; don’t let the bastards wear you down. And a new fan sounds like a smart investment. My computer is over 8 years old (it still runs Windows 7 so I’m trying to make it last until something replaces Windows 10) so I keep an eye on it.
FCM, I bet you pick up the system again relatively quickly, you probably will be surprised at how much you’ve retained.
Nut, hope it works out for you in terms of schedule and such.
Swampy, you have any special candle-lighting tools, like the Cat-Licks used to have? I still remember the long-pole with the cap on the end used to snuff out the candles in the back row…
Everybody take care now.
Much cussing ensued today. I think a lot of it is because of how my daughter has her machine set up. But I’ve just about finished the design, and I still need to fix a few brain farts. It’ll be done tomorrow.
So much for a day off. SIL had Roxy duty, which, to him, means he plays video games with her in the same room. I used to think he was a good father, but despite him changing diapers and feeding her, he won’t interact with her. Luckily she has grandparents who engage her.
I need a neck massage.
Howdy Y’all! We et sup, got the kitchen all cleanded and then went and did a good deed. A lady at the church bought a new brass bed and the old headboard, frame, and footboard were under her carport. She wants to donate them to the church for the yahd sale the Episcopal Church Women are havin’ at the end of March. A nice thing, however, no donations will be accepted until after St. Patrick’s Day as we have our big feast scheduled for March 16. St. Patrick’s Day is on Sunday March 17 for those keepin’ score. Anywho, she has a storage buildin’, so we went over and put the stuff in there. We shall transport it over to the church house at the appropriate time. I almost made a Junior Warden executive decision to get it and take it on over to the church, but thought better of that cause I could then envision other folks just decidin’ to bring stuff over early. Plus also, we have Shrove Tuesday comin’ up which is our big pancakes, bacon, and snausage pigout with proceeds goin’ to our Deacon’s discretionary fund.
MetalMouse we do indeed have the biiiiiiig candle light and snuffer contraptions. They look like this.
ETA: MOOOOOOM will we need to do this?
Howdy y’all!
TGIF! I irked until three today, picked up some groceries and came home. My neighbor came over to warn about some of the parking problems that have been happening (his irk truck got towed). We both think one of the new neighbors is in the illegal substances business, adding to the traffic. He’s made a complaint and I will be when I go to pay rent this month. The !@#$ers took a paint chip from the driver’s door of my car right after its first oil change. The horrors!
swampy, yep, that’s what I was thinking of. One of those devices that you wonder who thought them up…probably some guy who was tired of having to move candles around to get to the back row…
Red, good luck and be careful of the (suspected) dopers, but good on you for doing something.
Mooooomm, hope FCD can supply the neck massage.
Pretty much a slow afternoon and evening, had a double cheeseburger for dinner and now internettin’ will keep me busy for another hour or so, then off to bed.
wait ya went to white castles and didn’t bring a bag pf cheese sliders? boo! I say boo!
We don’t have white castle in ca unless you count those frozen things in the stores …. blurf I say ….
Just ate burger king and other than its cold outside …not much going on other than same bs diff day ……
Ruble, I will buy three (or more) of those cleavers for any Mumper who wants to take up juggling.
Do I qualify?
Off to cleanin’ irk, after skiving for two weeks. Probably be a busy one; it’s been skool holidays this last week, so a lot of people are probably going home this weekend. Got a bit of a cold, and I don’t really wanna, but I guess I better had…
Up ,caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Got “Princess Pretty Paws” off the sidewalk to pee finally.

Cleaver jugling? I don’t think you can hack it.
Woke stupid early again, played with my tablet a bit, then dragged out when I heard Roxy et. al. moving about. Critters have been tended to, tho Taz and Ziva didn’t get their usual morning treats. Cat box is clean. I’m now breakfasting and caffeinating. Got an appt to get my eye-bones checked this morning, which is good - I need new glasses - these are kinda scratched.
More rain forecast for today and tomorrow, so dreary weekend ahead. Not sure what’s in store, but it will certainly be dull and tedious…
Happy Saturday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 84 and cloudy with drizzle this afternoon. Tomorrow is supposed to be rain all day and then a return to more seasonable temps. Winter in the southern USofA is bein’ its usual willy-nilly self. No big plans for the day which is fine by me. Chili/cheese slawdawgs shall be sup with fartfest to follow.
doggio cleaver jugglin’ would put you a cut above the rest of the jugglers. Perhaps Nuts could give you some help you sharpen your skills.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
swampy, at our church we are starting the one week countdown to next Saturday, when we will observe the installation of the 10th bishop of Kansas. Our verger is saying it will be a zoo, with 15 bishops and over one hundred fifty others in the procession alone. The service starts at 11:00AM and the doors will open for seating two hours before that. Our gethering hall will have a big screen set up for overflow, as even the cathedral seating will not be enough. And do not even think about parking! We do have it but the neighborhood and the building were built in the early 20th century, before there was as much need for parking. I plan on arriving early to get a seat, but I will not even try for the lot. It will make a getaway easier if I park about a block and a half away, on the west side of the high school practice field. My only disappointment is that while the Presiding Bishop will be there he will not be preaching. I have only seen him preach on TV, at the latest royal wedding, but not in person.
I’ll be leaving early for my eye appointment so I can go by the vet and get Higgs’ heartworm and flea meds. Yay, multitasking!! I needed to keep reminding myself to get her meds, since she gets them the first of the month, which is next week.
Once home, I have laundry to do, some engineering work to do, and a little bit of sewing - I have a pair of jeans that are stupid long.
Oh yeah, and today is Roxy’s first swim lesson! The local community college has swim classes for babies and toddlers, and hers starts today. Hope she likes it - my daughter was a water baby from the start.
Onward!!
happy Saturday!
Slept in today, so feeling somewhat better.
Supposed to rain later today, and high is in the 30s, but at least warm enough that we have rain and not snow.
Going to be a busy day, I have lots to do but no idea what of the many things on the list will be done.
Morning all. More rain predicted for this evening, so no drying out for awhile. It is supposed to reach 66F today, which is good, but seeing the big yellow ball in the sky now and then would be nice.
shady, sorry, but I only get ‘fresh’ White Castles when I go North of Nashville…down here it’s Krystals’, and I don’t care for them burying the sammich in mustard.
Hmmm, now I’m hungry and there is bacon, lettuce and tomatoes waiting for me…
Baker, enjoy the ceremony. Hope the seats are comfortable for 2 hours of sitting.
FCM, hope Roxy enjoys the pool and your new glasses work out.
Take care, all y’all.
Baker, enjoy the ceremony. Hope the seats are comfortable for 2 hours of sitting.
The usual hard pews:p But I will take along a book to help pass the time. The pews in the first few rows have padding, but given how many clergy and processional folks will need to be seated, I am assuming those will already be reserved.
The choir may have to practicse beforehand, and people watching will be fun too.![]()
doggio, Nelson isn’t a fan of all of this rain either. He’s taken to taking his whiz on the grass beside the stoop under the eaves to avoid wading.
Moooooom, yay for RoxStar’s swim lessons. While I never had formal lessons, I don’t remember not knowing how to swim, growing up on the lakes and all.
Up, breakfasted, caffeinating, bed stripped, towels and sheets in teh wash, puppy crate cleaned and fixing to do KP. Other than taking Nelson to Lowe’s or Home Depot to get him out of the house, there are no big plans for the day. I’ll likely play in the studio, clean up the project just finished and do some sorting/organizing.
