Looking forward to Boardwalk Empire, House, Dexter ...

Yeah, I’m certainly looking forward to Boardwalk Empire’s Premiere; I’ve read that HBO invested some serious talent (and money) into this new series. It’s supposed to start this Sunday (9/19/10).

Here’s a link to a trailer, for those that are curious:

(Fans of The Wire will notice a short clip of Omar)

Of course the renewal of old series is also exciting. House and Dexter are starting up soon. This excitement got me thinking that, besides Madmen and the shows already mentioned, I don’t like anything on TV.

Well that just isn’t cool. I’d like some input on some other good shows. I’m not asking for mediocre / mildly entertaining; I want whatever the best TV has to offer.

I’m with you on all three shows. Others I will be watching – but may not rate highly enough to recommend to others – include:

The Good Wife
Fringe
Bones
Rubicon
Human Target
Medium
Terriers
The Mentalist
Grey’s Anatomy (this is fast losing my interest and loyalty)
Weeds
The Big C
Nurse Jackie

Ones I can recommend with no hesitation:

Mad Men
Breaking Bad
Justified
Sons of Anarchy

New ones I plan to watch until they prove themselves unworthy:

Lonestar
The Event
Chase
Detroit 1-8-7
Blue Bloods
Outlaw

You can see from this schedule that I’ll have to DVR quite a few of them, but that’s been true for several years.

I really, really like Terriers. I’m gonna check out Lone Star and Boardwalk Empire, but I probably won’t bother to look at any other new shows. I’m trying to keep my TV watching down to three-four hours a week.

QI is starting up again today!

Is there any place to watch it in America other than YouTube? I love that show.
