That is a cute little one. Puppies are awesome little bundles of energy. Now, go puppy proof your house. Electrical cords are one of their favorite things to chew on. Unplug those not in use.

Progress to report. Meeting time for me to meet with foster family set, and all paperwork/process for me to drive away with a pup has been approved/completed. Basically I show up, decide if I am okay with one of the pups, and away we go.
I know this should be a non-emotional thing where I show up, take a really critical and thoughtful look at each puppies behavior, temperament, and socialization levels, and then consider all that in a decision of whether or not to adopt one of these pups.
But…
Honestly, short of one of them pulling a knife on me, I’m not sure what could convince me to not drive away with one of these bundles of squee.

Indeed. I’m excited like a 12 year old girl before a birthday party. I am a 50 year old man adopting a puppy. WTF is wrong with me? It is like that puppy and the level of squee has some kind of evil hold on me.
I realized I lied a few posts ago when I said I’d reconsider adopting if the puppy pulled a knife on me. That’s a lie. Let’s face it, it would be the cutest little knife ever! It would be so precious.
I’ll report back tomorrow. Meanwhile, everyone be thinking of girl puppy names!

OK, those are names of female dogs I’ve owned in the past so I am biased.
Friends of mine have two litter-brothers, black Lab x Chow, that looked very much like that as wee puppies.

A lady in my neighborhood had Schipperke puppies and they looked just like that! She is really into the breed, has a couple of bumper stickers on her car, and I don’t recall if she docked the puppies’ tails or not, but her mama dog had a curly spitz-like tail.
However, I once got a puppy that also looked a lot like that. His mama was a dachshund-beagle mix (who also later became my dog) and his father was very likely some kind of lab mix. He was very cute, and grew into a 50-lb guy with kind of a square muzzle, glossy medium-length fur, and feathers on his hindquarters. He was a Good Dog.
So she is going to be a Good Dog someday once she gets over being an Evil Cute Puppy.
