Lord Voldemort has been casted

According to IMDB John Malkovich has signed on to play Lord Voldemort in the fourth Harry Potter. I think this is inspired casting and now, officially, can’t wait to see the fourth one.

He has the ability, I think, to play pure evil, and with the right makeup can look exactly how I imagined.

What do you think?

Certainly beats the Rowan Atkinson rumor from before. I thought that there was some Rowling stipulation that all of the actors had to be British or something? Perhaps it’s okay for evil to be American.

Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich?

Interesting call, if it’s accurate. I know he can do evil, but doing evil in goofy clothes requires a diffrent skill altogether.

I still think Mr. Bean was pure evil and could pull of Voldemort quite nicely. :stuck_out_tongue:

Lord Voldemore has been casted? Why, did he break his leg?

Bah doom doom tish! :stuck_out_tongue:

GREAT news! Malkovich would be a very good Voldemort, IMO. Ok, now we need GoF to come out now ;).

Voldemort has either broken his leg, or Cynthia Plaster Caster has returned.

This is good news about Malkovich! I haven’t agreed with a lot of the casting choices, and Mr. Bean? That had to be a joke. I try to forget the movies when I read the books because the casting has gone so far against what my imagination gives me instead.

Fart. Sorry all, but I don’t really care for Malkovitch.

Ouch - stop throwing things! Kidding.

And what about the “only English actors” rule? Perhaps I can hope it’s just a rumor.
Snicks

Actually, as I have pointed out before, it’s not according to IMDb: It’s according to WENN, the Hollywood gossip factory associated with the British tabloid industry. Every day, that “news” page consists of old rumors, recycled and pumped-up quotes taken out of context, and outright fiction invented out of whole cloth on slow news days. The basic rule: If it’s a WENN item, it can be assumed to be false, or at least misleading and incomplete, unless and until confirmed elsewhere by a legitimate news service.

I’m not saying Malkovich isn’t playing Voldemort. I’m just saying that WENN is not a source to trust for such a report.

Generally I go by Greg’s Previews on Yahoo movies but I happen to be doing research at IMDb and thought it was pretty cool casting choice. I hope it’s correct. It’s good to know who I can trust though, thanks

I was waiting for that one. The minute I hit send I realised my mistake.

…and in the post saying that I was aware of my mistake I make a coding error - perfect. It’s been a good day. :smack:

Considering Warner Brothers is denying it, I’d probably have to count this rumour as a steaming load.

Ask yourself this question: How many American actors have been thus far cast in speaking roles in any Harry Potter film?

I won’t be dissappointed until I find out who really is cast. That’ll teach me to listen to something other than Greg.
