OK, so according to this thread, Rowan Atkinson will not be playing Voldemort in the film adaptation of the Goblet of Fire, which I personally think is a shame. I would never have considered him before I heard the rumors, but I would have loved to see him do it. That said, I have no idea who else could play Voldemort.
What I’m interested in more, however, is the casting of Mad-Eye Moody. This is mainly because I’ve already cast the part in my mind, and I really can’t see it going to anyone else.
Are you sitting down?
Christopher Lloyd. Seriously. C’mon, Moody is a man with a withered, contorted face, a raving lunatic (or so it seems) and ultimately a really dark character. If Lloyd plays it as a cross between Judge Doom in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and his Ignatowski character from Taxi, he’ll be perfect. I read the book and I just had visions of him all the time.
Only problem is, he’s not British, so Rowling won’t allow it. A crying shame, because Lloyd’s career has been going downhill for the last ten years or so, and I’d love to see him in an A-list film again.
But that’s just my choice. Who would you pick?
