Lost 2.3: "Orientation"

How could a computer short out an entire science installation?? Is this just an elaborate Pavlov experiment? Never mind…sorry to digress…

-XT

Oh sure, make the freaky-secret-bunker-laboratory-building wierdos from University of Michigan. We already got the Uni-bomber, give us a break will ya?

The computer had, after all, been shot. It’s not unreasonable to think a short circuit, possibly a connection between the power supply and the case, could trip a breaker.

I just can’t stand it. I completely forgot about the show and missed the first 35 minutes. Is there a website or something that recaps the episode? I absolutely have to know what went on in that lost 35 minutes.

Y’know, a lot of us didn’t get to see the show yet because of the playoffs - so you’re all posting spoilers. :stuck_out_tongue: Spoiler box people!$ come on!!!

Or maybe the sickness has already gotten to them…?

It has been over for 1:20 in the Central zone. Stay away from the thread or kwitcherbitchin.

Sorry if this sounds snarky.

I won’t read a single word in this thread…Be back after Invasion.

Maybe I’ll peek anyway.

Page one, first line of the thread tells you that the current episode information is unboxed. Stop readin’ ya big silly!

I thought this was interesting - a UK promo for season one of lost which someone put the beatles song ‘yesterday’ over (I don’t know what song was on the original.) Anyhow, if you watch the video and take it in a literal sense… Locke and Walt are conducting the carnage and perhaps even the actions (dancing) of everyone.

Still don’t know how to do a spoiler box so…don’t read beyond this point.

I would buy that the computer might have shorted out…even that it might have thrown a circuit. But the entire base went down. That doesn’t seem very reasonable from a PC…right?

Anyway, it was just a nit pick. Good show tonight. I’m starting to think that the island is some testing station for behavior in humans. I think the food is drugged with something…maybe something that makes folks psychotic. The drug…an antidote. The whole 108 min. button push? Think Pavlov. The Others? They are the one’s who were the original test subjects that got out of control…or maybe they were as they were meant to be but the control group got wacked or something.

As for the rest of the mystic stuff…gods know. I’ll just have to wait and see.

I think there’s more to it than him just being an evil rotten bastard. They are really making a big deal of his rejection, then using, then rejecting his son again.

This show will drive me crazy.

Xtisme, don’t worry about boxes.

See you after the playoffs.

No, wait, if that’s the book I’m thinking of, it IS significant to this episode  !

:off to study this with waaay too much intensity:

Nuts. Where was the link to the original promo?

Ethan gets shot before he can give us any real answers, and Desmond runs off into the jungle, and we get strung along.

I think a lot of questions were answered in the video. It’s an experiment. Plain and simple. They mentioned animal testing, psychoanalysis, the whole nine yards. So it’s obviously a testing site. And since the video said part 3 of (some number I can’t remember) it’s just a matter of finding the other videos.

Does anyone have a breakdown of actual show minutes versus commercial minutes for tonights episode? I would swear that there were more commercials than show.

Well, at least they have an excuse for why Hurley doesn’t lose any weight from now on.

And, those tailaways better think twice about starting any turf wars. They might have a single ( and for all we know, empty) 9mm, but our favorite Lostaways now have an entire armoury.

It never ceases to amaze me just how fast this show goes by.

Apollo’s daddy took the form of a swan when he knocked up Leda with Apollo’s half-sister Helen, too… Hmmm…
