And somewhere, there is a guy with anterograde amnesia who has tattooed it all to himself… oh, and he watches the episodes in reverse order.
So he knows exactly what Walt is saying?
The actual same car – although it’s tan.
Whatever Walt is saying, people would do well to remember the soon-to-be bumper sticker:
When Walt Whispers (Or Tells You To Shush), You Should Listen.
I wonder was it involved in Mr. Rutherford’s crash?
They went out of their way to point out that it was an (evil) SUV that hit him.
I’m kinda late to the party. I just have a couple things to mention.
I’m surprised no one brought up the timeline. We tried to figure out how long ago Jack had his bad hair day during his flashback but I don’t think we ever came up with anything definite, now we have more info. Shannon was 18 when her dad died, and she is how old now? I can’t remember from the episode where Hurley did the census but I’m thinking it was said that she was 22 (and Boone 24), so we’re looking at only 4 years. Which in a way makes some sense since it’s on of the numbers. It also seems to indicate that Jack’s marriage didn’t last very long at all.
Also, is it just my imagination or was Shannon wearing the same outfit she was wearing in Boone’s vision of her death?
I think Shannon is dead because it sure looked like she took a last gasp after she fell into Sayid’s arms. Had she still had some life in ehr I think Sayid would have ignored everyone else and scooped her up and ran off to Jack but there was a significant pause while he gave everyone dirty looks. I also agree that Sayid did indeed see Walt, he was reacting to something.
I also agree that it still looks most likely that AL shot Shannon and I find it to show a bit of an itchy trigger on AL’s part since Shannon was wearing pink and running through the forest shouting "WAAAAALLLLTTT! and gave them plenty of warning and didn’t look or act Otherish at all. In fact AL heard Michael screaming Walt so much she should be familiar with the call. Then again maybe she thought Michael had somehow gotten in front of her and she was gonna shush him once and for all.
I also felt it seemed kind of pointless to kill off everyone in the Carlyle-Rutherford family on the island. I wondered if maybe Maggie Grace asked to get out since she has a budding movie career now? It wouldn’t be the first time an actor did something stupid like that CoughDavidCarusoCough
She said she was 20. So it has been 2-3 years.
Remember the old “shave and a haircut” knock they had going at their hatch? They said the Others are tricky. Maybe they can take on other forms. AL heard whispers, comes into a clearing and sees something coming at her. POW!
It is sad that he has gone and become successful again. It kind of takes some of the umph off Caruso bashing!
2-3 years? That doesn’t seem like enough time for Jack to marry his wife and dump/get dumped, that would have been a really short marriage. Hasn’t it been establised that the wedding was two years after he saved her?
It still took quite some time for David Caruso to go and get “successful” (I use the term loosely) again after several years working on that big film career he was going to have. And his success came on the small screen again which he once spurned. So he’s fair game for that kind of bashing still, besides no one remembers what you mean when you refer to McLean Stevenson.
By the way, Maggie Grace may or may not have been suffering from that syndrome I heard …
She has known for a while that Shannon would die. It came about when they were renegotiating contracts at the start of the season. So maybe she did ask for too much.
Oh, and that also means Shannon is really truly dead.
Is this the first show where a new cast member kills off an old cast member that she is replacing?
There is only one person there who isn’t unconscious, speaks English and knows both Sayid and AL. Michael will have to step up to the plate as peacekeeper.
Michael: Sayid, it was an accident. We were hearing voices. We thought the Others were after us. Why was Shannon running at us?
Sayid: She was chasing after Walt.
Michael: (goes running off into the forest) WAAAAAALT!
That’s what all the timelines are saying. Apparently it was established earlier that she was only 20. So the only way it is three years later is if she was about to turn 21.
Yeah, this seems odd. I don’t doubt the Shannon timeline analysis, but I wonder how it compares with what we know about Jack’s timeline. Didn’t his wedding flashback contain timeline info? I seem to remember either he or his fiance giving a speech in which they talked about how much time had passed since the accident. Does anyone remember the details?
Oh yeah…
Plus, we know how long Devin had been on the island, right? Does anyone remember that? If it was more than 2-3 years, then something is very wrong, since he had to have met Jack longer ago than that.
Desmond has been on the island about 3 years.
Here is a good timeline.
According to it, the wreck was 3 years before the crash and the wedding was two years later.
So the marriage had 1 year prior to the crash to come undone…however that happened.
Desmond, not Devin. I knew that didn’t look quite right when I wrote it.
Why does it not surprise me that someone has done this? Nice reference, though!

Hey, here’s an interesting connection given in that timeline link. I don’t remember this being revealed, but it appears that Hurley and Leonard were in the same mental health institute that Locke’s mother was in, although at different times:. SRMHI.
I had noticed that connection and was going to add it to my conspiracy spreadsheet (that site is fantastic and doesn’t contain spoilers as far as I’ve noticed).
What’s the deal with the upcoming “extended episode” ? The local TV paper doesn’t indicate the running time for it; it is scheduled for an hour but that can’t be right.
TiVo says it’s 1:05.
