I know that this is a little early to start a thread on Wednesday’s episode, but I just came back from an exclusive screening of the episode followed by a Q&A session with Carlton Cuse (writer/executive producer).
I won’t reveal anything or even give hints (unless someone comes along and asks for them, of course) but I will say that this episode has some seriously revelatory information and if you weren’t planning on watching, you should really reconsider.
Also, one non-spoiler hint Carlton dropped during the Q&A session is that there’s a hidden anagram somewhere in the episode that has huge implications for the rest of the season. Of course, no one at the screening spotted it the first time through.
Well, if you’re going to open this thread to spoilers, I’ll go ahead and start my usual non-spoiler thread tomorrow with links to the other episodes and useful web sites. Most people don’t want the episode spoiled.
The capsule review in *Entertainment Weekly * alluded to much the same as you, chambraigne– a good, meaty progression, bunch of questions answered, etc. A return to the old stuff, perhaps?
I wasn’t quite as exasperated with the first half of Season 3 as many seemed to be. . . but I fervently hope tommorrow night’s episode gets me rabid for that universe again.
That’s all that’s been missing for me in 3.0. The slavering, oh-my-jeebus-what-could-that-mean sense of awe.
Rusalka, funny you should say that. One of the questions asked of Carlton last night was precisely that. All he would say, of course, is that they are not nanotech particles. I think it’s required for someone to ask him that question at every Q&A session he does.
Frylock, I’ll go ahead and add three general hints. They aren’t really spoilers at all–I’ve left them very general. They’ll hopefully just whet your appetite without giving anything away.
We don’t see anyone from the beach. This episode still focuses on Kate, Jack, Sawyer, and the Others.
The flashbacks themselves provide important new information that will likely change how you think about the whole situation and its relation to the outside world.
We find out that two characters are related in a surprising way.
