Lost 3.10: "Tricia Tanaka is Dead"

One word: Locke.

Vincent = Jacob?

Oh, and from the previews:

Looks like next week we meet Eye-Patch-Guy!!

Yeah I was impressed when Kate & Sawyer escaped. Within a few minutes there was a fire burning and plenty of torches to go around. I don’t think they had anything on that boat they used.

I just watched this episode.

Hated it. Or, at least, was bored by it. Plus, I had a hard time getting past the ridiculousness of the van project.

I’m squarely in the Stop Noodling Around With Flashbacks And Start Splainin’ The Present Club. This episode is a good example. Yes, thank you, I know that Hurley thinks he was cursed and that abundant evidence supports his belief. That’s been made clear in several episodes. Now, how about addressing whether the curse is real, or how it fits into the rest of the show, or how the numbers tie in, or any of the eighty-four other things I’m asking myself.

On the other hand:

Next week’s episode looks very interesting. Glad to see the computer and Doc Candle back. The question is will they use these things to introduce EVEN MORE questions, or will we start to see the splainin’ I’m cravin’?

Short course of Cipro’ll clear that right up.

I don’t think anyone mentioned the one thing that bothered me the most about this episode. The one thing that took me right out of the show. Cheech’s horrific wig.

and I never noticed the harelip before… did he traditionally wear a mustache?

By the way, I guess it’s time to officially add Hurley to the list of characters with daddy issues.

Yes.

“What’s a head doing in there?”
“Oh, that’s just Roger.”

Cancel Lost, and replace it with “Hurley’s Island.” He’s far and away the most enjoyable character to watch.

Vincent is the only one on the island that really does much exploring. I think he’s getting sick to death of those idiots who barely wander away from the beach. He probably found Otherland a while ago and that’s why he looks so well fed and clean - they adopted him and he’s had three squares a day of Dharma Dog Chow and regular baths with Dharma Doggie Shampoo. Yep, they need to pay more attention to the dog … he knows things.

[sub]Long Time Lurker - Thanks for playing![/sub]

If my father had tried something as trite as “The Carburetor Lesson” when I was a kid , I’d have tried to see if his breath smelled like Otto’s jacket.

That was some seriously bad writing.

Dude, you totally have to write that in to the producers! They pick some and read them on their podcast and answer them…

As soon as I saw that key in the arm in Vincent’s mouth, I knew it was a Volkswagen by it’s distinctive shape. I’m excited by this episode. If they could get a 30 year old Volkswagen running, then it should be no problem to get the one (actually 3) that’s sitting in my driveway running. It’s only been sitting there for 10 years!

I am reminded of the VW Beetle in Woody Allen’s ‘Sleeper’.

Started right up. Hundreds of years in a cave.

No Island magic there, it was the magic of 60’s VW.

I liked how the VW medallion was replaced with a Dharma medallion.

So, what did Kate want Sawyer to apologize for?

Honestly, I can’t think of anything besides not going back for Jack right away. Seeing as how most challenging situations seem to be lost as soon as someone puts a gun to Kate’s head, I don’t think she gets a say in tactical situations anymore.

-Joe

She was testing him.

It’s something my dad used to do. He’d come home from work, and he’d say, “Okay, the school called me, and I know all about it. So why don’t you tell me your side.” The school, of course, had not called him. He was just trying to get me to confess to things I thought nobody else knew about.

So when Kate says, “Are you going to apologize?” she’s hoping to fool Sawyer into revealing a guilty secret.
( I don’t really think this is what’s going on. The writers aren’t that clever. I think they really do have a conclusion in mind for us. I just have no frakkin’ idea what it might be.)

(Unless it’s something like Sawyer not going down on Kate when they were in the cage. He better apologize for that.)

(And yeah, my dad really did do that a couple of times. Only worked once, though.)

So… uh… was he any good?

I guess not, if it only “worked” once.

Ewww!

Two words: handlebar mustache.
