One thing’s for sure; when they get back to the beach they will not mention anything to anybody about what happened to them.
Well, it’s complicated.
I was popping back in to say the same thing, damn you! You are talking about dozens of federal agents when you take into account shifts and days off. Hell the Marshalls wouldn’t let that one agent spend all his time on this one case let alone use dozens. They probably have fewer loking for Whitey Bulger.
Yeah, well maybe Sayid Bauer can held “simplify” things.
And not in a good way.
Anyway, as ridiculous as the FBI thing was, perhaps we could explain it away somewhat by assuming they’d recently gotten some information that Kate was in the area, or appeared to be heading that way, so they set up an intense stakeout for a week or so. But then again, didn’t her mom say two agents were following her all the time? Oh well.
FWIW, I think you can collect on life insurance if the person is murdered, as long as you aren’t responsible. So I’d bet the insurance company would have bent over backwards to implicate Kate’s mom to avoid paying out - another good reason to be pissed at Kate, I suppose.
Am I the only one who watched Sawyer with the fish and thought, “Man, he clearly hasn’t seen Office Space.”
The only explanation I can think of with all the FBI agents is that Kate’s was doing lots and lots of stuff that got their attention between killing Dad and trying to return home. Stuff they have not revealed yet.
What if it’s not really the FBI? What if Kate’s stepdad was DHARMA and those were DHARMA agents posing as FBI and they just really wanted to take her to the island to punish her for killing one of their guys (Hanso?
) or they just needed a replacement for him so they needed to strap her to a “marshall” in order to get her on the plane?
Hmm?
:smack: Wow.
When Lock was talking to Kate and saying good buy he mentions something.
He said he made a good case for her. Said all sorts of nice things about her.
Then he said they told him what she had done
His response.was “Lets just they they aren’t bug on forgiveness” or something similar.
I feel led to believe that she intact did do something to piss the others of on and or off the island.
Just killing her dad or robbing a bank would mean little or nothing to the others and forgiveness would not be necessary.
Yeah, that line struck a discordant note with me as well.
Did it also strike anyone as weird that Juliet and Kate didn’t at least stop for a shower before leaving “civilization”?
You mean like… together? And with multiple camera angles? And lots of soap? And a chick-a-bow-bow music track?
Yeah, I was hoping for that, too…
Because there are some things that Locke knows that they don’t. That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have a lot to learn from him.
Or, maybe John sees a chance to be the head of a cult?

Yeah he mentions that the retail price was at least 20% more than she paid for it. And she just saved a lot of money on her car insurance.
Lost is all about daddy issues. Kate killed her dad. Locke didn’t, despite having every reason to. I bet all the others have daddy issues too.
I’d say you were a Sick Pervert… but then I have never seen you at any of the meetings, so I guess I can’t.
I was thinking about this a few days ago:
Jack, Claire (same guy, too), Hurley, Sun, Charlie (?), Eko was a “father,” Michael is an involuntary father, Sawyer, Walt, Shannon, Desmond (?)
Heh. Lostpedia has a much more complete analysis than I have time to do: http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Parent_issues
Also- maybe it has something to do with Ben conjuring up Locke’s father? He has unfinished business with his dad and the Others are his chance to deal with it.
That’s because I run the East Coast chapter. You must attend the West Coast gatherings…
Kate has often been presented as being pretty physically capable in a fight, but Juliet reacted like a movie ninja – ducking under the swinging pool cue and flipping Kate over onto her back hard enough to render her immobile for a while. How did a fertility doctor become such a badass? (She also decked Jack with one punch.) Do all the Others’ recruits get martial arts and weapons training? On the other hand, sometimes they seem no more capable than average people. Do the writers actually have a clear idea about this, or do they just make up whatever is dramatically convenient?
