Was on the soccer fields from 0830 to 1330 yesterday and by the time I got home it had just enough energy to take a bath. Laid down about 5PM and slept on and off until 0330, and now need to find some sustinence. Need to learn to pace myself, but if there are games that are not covered, I just can’t help myself.
Hope all the illness will pass soon. I’ve got a mild cough that will not go away, not sick or anything, just an annoyance.
Is that the Royal We, a Mumper we or human-beings-in-general we?
Good morning, such as it is. One of my inlaws was in the bathroom in the middle of the night, so that woke me. Then I had to pee. Then Taz wouldn’t settle down. Then **FCD **decided to try the bed instead of the recliner, but that lasted about 10 seconds. Then Higgs was fussing so I was letting her out at 3 in the AM, after which, I took her into the bedroom with me and locked the door with Taz outside. Higgs eventually settled and I snoozed from maybe 4:30 till 6.
Higgs has now been fed and I’m caffeinating, but I’m exhausted. FIL just got up. I’m trying to be quiet so my sweetie can sleep as much as possible. He’s really hurting - it wouldn’t bother me if the Dr put him right in the hospital and did surgery on him immediately, poor baby. We shall see what happens tomorrow.
Meanwhile, I have a day of laundry ahead of me. And a dishwasher to empty. And a cat box to clean. ugh.
I woke up too early, partly because I was cold all night. The heat’s on, but I turned it back and forgot to turn it back up. Needing the heat in May is very wrong.
We’ve already decided on pizza for dinner tonight. Sah-son wanted it last night but I had already put chicken in the oven.
It was so good. Even Big Fat Durwood Cat (who should not be eating cake but he’s spoiled) loved licking the plate. Then I watched some videos from the cruise the Storytellers were on when I moved in. There an extended sequence of Irish Storyteller wiping out on the surf thingy and lots of railing shots. Seasonal’s declared that Irish Storyteller will not be in charge of the camera next time.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffeinated, purtified and at da cave. I left Ye Olde Home Towne early this mornin’ and headed back here to awaken OYKW who is finishin’ purtification for deheathenization as I type. 'Tis a lovely, coolish 64 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 83 and sunny for the day. Nice! ‘Twas a chilly 51 Amurrkin when I left out this mornin’.
I read but did not retain much. I will re-read and respond as appropriate or inappropriate later today.
Stoopit starlings are trying to make a nest in the eaves just outside my bedroom window. Starlings are kinda pretty with their spots and all, but they are jerks to the songbirds, and I don’t want them nesting in the eaves. All morning it was flap flap flap scritch scritch rustle rustle. One of the boys will have to deal with that today.
It’s all of 52F, expected to get up to 55F with showers and the possibility of thunder and lightning. It’s lovely compared to last week’s 80F+, I mean c’mon, it’s only May!
The coffee is done, I need my magic bean elixer! G’mornin’ all!
Oy! I’m having to dig out the long pants from the back of the closet.
The neighbor and I watched a couple of old movies last night after supper (roast poke tenderloin with apricot glaze, roasted cauliflower, beets and sweet potatoes and a chop salad, if you must know). Laundry, a trip to the dollar store and getting next week’s breakfasts and lunches together are all that’s on the list today. There will probably be some studio time in there somewhere too.
Howdy. Happy Sunday! I feel terrible for FCD He sounds just miserable. I know it’s hard on you Mmmmoooommm having to watch your sweetie in so much pain.
Yesterday my hubs was at home part of the day. He still has not regained all his energy. He had anesthesia twice in three days and thinks it’s taking a while to get out of his system. He spent the afternoon cleaning our a/c units. I cooked supper and we retired early. Today when I woke up he is gone back to irk. I hope he will have a short day today too.
Plans for my day include the usual cleaning, cooking and laundry. I may have to make a trip to the grocery store too. I have to be in a training class at 0730 tomorrow which means I must leave the house around 6ish which is very early for me. This class is a fiscal oversight class to replace the visit of the now cancelled auditors. I’ll take it.
One bit of good news - **FCD **has agreed to let his parents take him to his Dr appt tomorrow. They have a handicap hang tag (for my FIL) so my poor sweetie won’t have to walk as far to the office. Yay!
All my laundry is out on the lines, and it’s quite breezy. The sun just popped out again - hope it hangs around for a while. I’ll need to run to the convenience center in a bit - our trash cans are full. The inlaws were going to take us to dinner tonight, but I think we’ve decided to order in. So other than the trash run and bringing in the laundry, I have nothing to do.
Oh, and the pellet stove is on. it’s chilly in here. ugh.
Plants watered, assorted bits of trash picked up around the yard, and chicken thawed for supper - no idea what it’s gonna be, except chicken something or other.
Learned last night about one of those funny gaps in knowledge that exist in teens. The Boy didn’t know how to cook rice. He bakes bagels from scratch, makes his own hummus, etc., but had never cooked a lowly pot of rice! So we learned how to do that, before sampling all of the delicacies sent by his sweet friend - I don’t remember all of the names, but there were two vegetable curries, one goat, and one chicken. Plus a little rice-based dessert that I had already warned The Boy he would find waaaaay too sweet and a bit perfume-y. And it was, so he ate another bowl of goat curry to cleanse his palate!
Thanks. Since his folks are taking him, and his mom isn’t shy about talking to doctors, he’ll probably ask all the right questions, lest she come in and grill the doc!
I’ve taken the trash and recycling. We had grilled cheese for lunch. In about an hour, I’m going to take down the laundry. And I guess we’ll be ordering pizza or something for supper. **FCD **is snoozing right now, which is great, poor baby. His dad and mom are watching the Nationals on TV. Taz is snoozing between them. It’s a quiet afternoon in FairyChatEstates.
Had time to kill so I walked thru Times Square at duskish. Some construction made it absolute gridlock. Both vehicles & people. Not one but two ambulances were trying to get thru but not having any luck as there was nowhere for the cars, taxis, & buses in front to go anywhere so their lights were flashing & their sirens were noisily screaming for minutes.
There was a father standing on the sidewalk with a baby in a forward facing chest harness; his hands were over the baby’s ears to try & lessen the decibels. However, the baby’s eyes were totally bugged out & gave me the image that dad was squeezing just a bit too hard
Got this spam job offer: DEAR-CANDIDATE; #Job Description;
[a] You wiII be assigned to visit the store, etc.
** You have to pretend to be a normal potential customers who are looking for a specific product/service…
Okay, since I’m up just a few minutes shy of 12 hours at this point, I either need to mainline caffeine or go get some horizontal shut eye. G’nite.
“You have to pretend to be normal?” That doesn’t sound like spam. Sounds like they know you.
Also, thank you Capital One for great fraud alerts. And thank you also for making the primary account holder do the phone thing to replace the card. I can sweetly tell Tony that I tried, but here’s a job he has to do for himself - it’s his Walking Around Pocket Money card, so he has good incentive to do it ASAP.
Howdy Y’all! We got deheathenated and then attended one hyuuuuuuuuuge reception for YP and family. This was a high end fancy schmancy deal. I could tell cause all the little sammiches did not have crusts. Anywho, it was sufficient enough to serve as N.O.L. Nappage also occurred. I definitely needed some horizontal time. I even napped longer than OYKW which is some kind of feat!
Spidey I would faint but we’re talkin’ about a Noo Yorker and well, they ain’t right so what more could one expect.
MOOOOOOM hope the doc can help FCD get to the root of what’s what and FCD can find some relief soon, poor thing.
{{{wiki}}}!!! yay for comin’ back to play! Starlings get on my nerves as well. Every year swallows build nests underneath the Parish Hall over to the church house. Swallows are jake so everybody likes that even though it means havin’ to power wash off bird poop a few times each year.
Butters glad hubs is feelin’ better. Hope he doesn’t over do it though.
Dindin tonight will be forage da fridge if’n you’re hongry. Tomorrow night is men’s night over to the church house so steaks are marinatin’ and beer is chillin’ for that. Now all I need to do is figure dindin for the other nights.
