Lost Mafia/Werewolf/Psychopath

**FTR: Was it the wrong play for Story to talk about being blocked? **

I think so, actually.

After he did that, the scum continued to block him every Night, and he never had a successful investigation.

However, you haven’t removed the registration requirement for the board as a whole.

Yes, but you still have to register for the board.

The new game is up and signups are available!

OK, I’m pending approval by an administrator.

Me too!

Me three.

Looks like I can get in now.

:wild applause:

That was impressive.

Post-mortem, here: Was it the correct play for Town to assume that there were four Scum? It turned out to be wrong, of course, but it seems to me that it was the best guess we had: You always have to make some assumptions, or you’ll never do anything.

Wow! I sure didn’t expect to find this. What a twist.

Congrats to the Scum crew. Well-played, Telcontar!

Mahaloth, thank you for moderating a great game.

AOP: What is a Renaissance Man? Was it a power role?

Well, it was a mikstake because the assumptions were treated as fact. Making assumptions is fine as long as they’re not gospel. By making that assumption and basing all subsequent decisions on it without questioning, you guys made it much easier for Telcontar. You should read what storyteller was saying in the spoiler thread near the end for the kinds of questions you were not asking yourselves due to your certainty of the 4-scum team.

No offense, but your program really screwed Town over this game. Not that it was the only problem, of course, but it was a big one, particularly in how the end game played out.

I’m surprised no one asked before now.

He had two abilities to choose between. He could either protect or investigate.

Actually, that role is what messed up the balance. I miscalculated what he would/could really do with two powers.

My bad.

With the assumption of four Scum, our fate was sealed after the Smoke Monster, with or without the program. Without the assumption of four Scum, my program was giving correct (though useless) results.

Chronos, please go over to the spoiler board and share your thoughts. I have answered your questions.

Hey. Been lurking the whole game, pretty much. So I went ahead and tried to join the spoiler board. Just thought I’d give a heads up just in case you’re wondering who I am.

Yeah. I thought about clever “Oh, false doctor!” sort of claims, but with only three scum it wasn’t remotely safe to try a sacrifice play. as it turned out, i was effectively an investigator and, once shadow was blocked, I had to take over the kills and was thus a vanilla scum.

In this game the scum power roles were entirely focused on negating the town powers. I kept thinking how much I would have loved a strongman (bonus kill) or a redirector power. we could have had a blast.

Does someone see a way i could have used the powers more effectively? I felt forced to do as I did.

BigT, get in on the new Mafia game??
You seemed to really understand me. … Now that I am in, on that game, it would be interesting to have someone who understands me, play the game.
and if we turn up being opposite teams. well :smack: in advance.

Very Seriously, what is better than a win? effectively or not, you won. I don’t think you were that far from total effectiveness, if at all.
