Beg pardon? You’re suspicious of storyteller because he was helpful? Sure, posting a character summary is the sort of thing a Scum might do to appear helpful, but it’s also the sort of thing a Townie would do to actually be helpful. How is this grounds for suspicion?
Further on Ichini: I just noticed that, right after storyteller posted his character summary, Ichini seemed to find it a good thing. But now, after liking it a page ago, he’s saying that it’s pinging him as a Scum tell? That doesn’t make sense to me.
I read it as a simple statement of fact (that things said in this thread aren’t entirely reliable), not as advice that you should ask elsewhere. But it’s your vote, not mine, so cast it how you see fit: It’s a bad idea to rely entirely on others to tell you whether your reasoning is good, especially at this early point in the game where nobody’s confirmed yet. For all you know, I (or anyone else) might be scum, deliberately trying to lead you astray.
In another player, I’d probably agree with you here. Having seen meeko in the last game, however, I’m inclined to think that this is just meeko being meeko rather than meeko being scum.
I’m a fan of “vote early, vote often” so I’m going to get myself started. Pedescribe seemed to be overreacting to meeko (see Jimmy’s earlier post and mine from 12:13 last night). It’s not super suspicious, but it strikes me as more worrisome than the other potential cases. So, for the moment:
vote Pedescribe
Mostly I think that it’s odd that Pedescribe, who moderated my last two games, is being reactive, which I tend to think of as a new player tell. If something scumier happens I’m happy to change my vote.
I’m also wondering if the quieter players might want to speak up more. I don’t think we’ve seen much in the way of scum tells and this could mean that the Others are being fairly low volume.
I hate when I can’t get all my ideas out at once. I hate further typing on this small netbook keyboard.
Telcontar: To be clear: THANK YOU. I have no problem with you, or this quote. I am quoting it though, to hopefully get people to think about what they are doing.

Compared to where I was at this point in Crimson, I think I am light years ahead, this time around.
If I have done something all that scummy, let me know. I think I saw things for what they were. I Think I evaluated better choices once I saw them.
First of all, I clearly stated my reasons for finding the summary suspicious in my initial post: it’s easily obtained information, and posting it is an easy way to appear helpful. Note that I didn’t actually vote for storyteller, on the grounds that ISTM an original character summary was less suspicious than a copypasta summary.
Note also that liking the summary and finding its writer questionable are not mutually exclusive. I’m not denying that it’s useful. Is it unreasonable that I would read the post, find it helpful, think about it, and then wonder about the motives of storyteller?
Honestly, it just seems like you’re reaching for straws with the whole order of the posts thing. Either you find my ideas scummy, or you don’t. Voting me for changing my mind is lame, since I didn’t actually change my mind.
I’m not suggesting questions be asked elsewhere. If Meeko and I had a separate board to talk on, I beg you, assume that I wouldn’t be dumb enough to refer him to it like that over such a trivial point.
I was simply pointing out that, by asking the question he asked about when scum join bandwagons, Meeko made any future analysis of vote ordering suspect. Because obviously if I’m scum and I read in the game thread that yeah, everyone has agreed that the third vote = a scum bandwagon vote, I’m not voting third. And if I’m scum and we’re having that discussion, I’m going to have an opportunity to contaminate it. That’s all.
