No worries, NAF, just wanted to see if invoking your name still summoned you. =)
I haven’t bitched at ShadowFacts about his lurker list, but believe you me I’m fine-toothed-combing it. Someone shoulda warned him. =P

NETA:
No Digger, I am NOT interested in trading coppers with you, either.
Careful with all the talk about bitching and combing things - someone might think you’re a woman
(Sorry to all women everywhere for that)
Well it does. Now can I please go back to work? It’s not like I can spend all day in mafia games! Sheesh.
Oh and @ Meeko, I won’t do that trade, but I am open to future offers. Just so you know, I still have that silver dollar.
FWIW: I am still checking in here gang. But I am woefully aware that I frankly need to shut up more in my game play. Such that, that is, I am letting you guys know I have not dropped off the face of the earth, or what not.
All of this to say, Wow, it’s hard not ““playing””.
But, I think a key aspect to improving my play is to shut up.
Consider me shupped until otherwise.
This is getting ridiculous now.
Noob hat back on:
**What is causing the drought here? **
It’s night. No further explanation needed.
Right, but Mahaloth said that talking at night is allowed. Are we avoiding slips, by avoiding talking?
NETA : Now that it is night, scum are making up their minds on who to NK. If we talk now, we can only help them. Is that what you meant, Pede?
No. Most people just don’t talk at Night…I dunno why. It could be because words don’t have as much force when there are no votes to back them up…or because we’re conditioned by most games not allowing strategy at Night. Whatever it is, there’s certainly a positive feedback loop–the less people talk, the less there is to talk about.
You were on about this last game, too. Honestly, it makes very little difference whom the Scum choose to kill. They don’t have to worry about a mis-lynch the way we do; any victim at all will bring them closer to their victory condition. Sure, some kills are better than others, from their point of view, but if we let that shut us up, then we might as well just concede now. All that is necessary for evil islanders to prevail is for good survivors to say nothing.
That’s why I haven’t been talking real strategy. We will also have (slightly) more information post NK; an innocent will be confirmed after all.
I’m going to have a bit more to say shortly, hopefully just before the knives come down. But in the meantime, given that he hasn’t been seen for almost a week, and I don’t recall him mentioning that he’d be away or anything like that:
Replace BillMC
Concur
Replace BillMC
Also
Replace Paul
Unless he turns up to object or someone knows a good reason why not to.
The most likely answer with Paul is that he got shipped out again and doesn’t have net connection. It’s happened with him before, in the Smash Brothers game. Probably best off subbing him out.
Now, I’m going to apologize in advance to IF for this one.
I’m trying to work out how we can get information from the previous day’s voting, where a number of votes switched late to a candidate who turned out to be Town, and I can’t avoid the idea that those votes will look extremely different depending on whether or not IF is town.
If he is, then what happened at the end is likely the result of nothing more than townie confusion. If anything, the late votes are less likely to be scum, and a good hard look should be taken at the people who helped encourage the votes on IF and Ichini. (Yes, present company included).
If on the other hand, he’s scum, then the voting list for Ichini makes a nice list of suspects.
But the only way to know for sure (assuming the scum don’t night-kill IF, and without somehow killing one of their own I can’t think of a nightkill that would be stupider) is to lynch IF.
Bleah, I feel dirty now.
C’mon, c’mon, it’s 12pm. Refresh, refresh…
NETA: My computer said it was 12:04 when I posted that, which is slightly less obnoxious than 12 on the dot.
**Despite the chaos of the Daytime, everyone was eventually able to get to sleep.
Suddenly, a loud bang woke the islanders. Everyone got up and there was a frantic murmur of confusion. What was that?
Flashlights went on and their beams rapidly scanned the beach. One person let out a scream.
“Oh my God! He’s dead!!!” wailed one individual.
Everyone ran to where the screaming person was, and as they looked down everyone was shocked to learn that Tom Scud lay dead before them with a bullet wound in his head. It looked like he hadn’t even struggled. Other than the bullet hole in his head, he just looked…asleep.
Tom Scud, who was Hugo “Hurley” Reyes, an ordinary Survivor is dead.
Some people cried. Some people just stood there with their mouths open. Eventually, though, everyone was able to get back to sleep.
When the Survivors woke in the morning, however, they soon realized that one of them was missing. Tiny search parties formed. The Survivors scattered a bit into the forest, until one discovered what they all feared.
One group cried out, “Everyone! We found another body!!!”
Once everyone was gathered there, they could not believe what they saw.
Nanook of the North Shore was laying there strangled to death on the forest floor. Nanook’s back was scraped and bloody from having been dragged away from the beach.
Nanook of the North, who was Kate Austen, an ordinary Survivor, is dead.
It is now Day. Day Two will end Wednesday, June 24 at Noon Eastern. Don’t forget to bold and bluify your votes. **
Ah, the “lynch for information” tactic. I am strongly opposed - and I say this even though according to your hypothesis, if I were Scum I would be strongly opposed.
Here’s why:
If Fiend is Town, his death hurts us in that it burns away a mislynch. But his death really doesn’t get us that much. It doesn’t clear anyone, not really. It suggests a few potential targets, but it certainly doesn’t implicate anyone in particular.
If Fiend is Scum, then we will look at the people who voted for Ichini (myself included). Right. So it comes down to: we should lynch Fiend if he’s Scum. Which, I mean, we already knew that, right? So make a case for lynching him - make a case that he’s Scum. If you (or I, or someone in Town) can’t, then we shouldn’t lynch him. Which is where we started.
