I’m also around, but already on the books. I don’t anticipate changing my vote unless there’s some really obvious chicanery at the literal last minute.
Well obviously, I am here too.
Uhm, Chicanery, – back and forth, back and forth, right? [Or just “shenanigans” in general?]
The problem is, is fixining the back/forth, you create more. Someone might move in based on your moving in.
I’ll do so, and force the issue.
Unvote Zeriel
Vote Oredigger – I wish I could put together a reason for this, but all I have is that I had a bad feeling about him when I read the thread on Sunday. I don’t remember why I had a bad feeling about him, because it was early in the thread.
So if you disagree with me voting on my vague and forgotten feeling, kindly vote for Chronos by enough to prevent a last-minute vote change.
Storyteller, Zeriel is voting for AllWalker at the moment. I think Oredigger is the other person not voting.
Works for me, Story. If you have not broken the tie by 11:25 I’ll place a vote. I’m re-reading so I can do so intelligently.
I’m not moving before then because I honestly find **AllWalker **most suspicious at this time.
Also, Story: I absolutely agree with your statement on power-role anxiety. They can and should be around to take care of themselves, and if they don’t, we can’t afford to worry about it.
Totally Unrealted issue:
since we have people watching the game now:
Based on what scum might, or might not do :
Would Scum have better play all voting for just ONE of the leaders, spliting the vote between both leaders, or, are all the scum actively looking to waste their vote on a player, so that they are the only person voting for that player. [Are scum votes bunched up, or spread out?]
Well, there’s that taken care of. I’ll keep watching the conclusion just in case there’s some brazen chicanery.
It’s more that we don’t want the vote to be tied at 1130, either way. We don’t know what happens in the event of a tie, but most options are anti town. Now that scuba has broken the tie those voters might sit.
**Vote Count:
Oredigger(4): Telcontar, AllWalker, Pedescribe, ScubaBen
Chronos(3): Jimmy Chitwood, CardinalFang, USCDiver
Imaginary Fiend(1): Chronos
AllWalker(1): Zeriel
ShadowFacts(1): Imaginary Fiend
CardinalFang(1): Meeko
ScubaBen(1): ShadowFacts**
Bleached, you better believe it, in the crossfire that is comming ahead.
Ok.
Scuba Been now jumped in here.
Since he didnt Identify that he was also last minute voting… what do we make of it ?
Personally? Nothing in particular. This waiting for the last minute is not the best strategy, but every player has a responsibility to vote as (s)he sees fit throughout the game. The mere fact that a player makes a late-breaking vote isn’t probitive in any way; it’s what the vote is and what it does that are of interest.
On that note, I’m going to break the tie. And I’m going to do it by - gulp voting for Oredigger.
Looking at my analysis so far, and in brief, because I have only a few minutes here:
I find the early votes for Meeko to be very interesting. I think Meeko was someone the Scum probably targeted early as someone who they could get mislynched; that it hasn’t worked out that way notwithstanding. I really hate BillMc’s vote for Meeko, by the way: it smells like rank opportunism at its worst (best?).
AllWalker’s vote for Meeko (#306), the third (!), is also undermotivated, I think, particularly in light of the fact that AllWaker goes to pains to note that pedescribe is “suspicious,” (pedescribe is the vote leader at this point), but votes for Meeko because Meeko “misrepresented” BillMC. The problem being that what he calls misrepresentation looks like simple misunderstanding to me. And while reasonable people could differ on this point, the simple fact that it is not a blatantly obvious misrepresentation means that if pedescribe was suspicious enough to warrant a “suspicious as pedescribe is” mention, voting for Meeko there in place of pedescribe looks… let’s say worrisome. More so if pedescribe is Scum, though, because if ped is Scum than AllWaker’s vote for Meeko looks like an effort to gain cred for suspecting ped while quietly protecting ped from a potential lynch.
Tom Scud votes.
Then Oredigger piles on top of Meeko. He piggybacks AllWalker’s reasoning, and honestly, if AllWalker’s reasoning wasn’t good, then someone aping his reasoning feels even worse. “Oh, he cut a line out of something he was quoting, SCUM TELL” is just not reasonable, and adding the fifth vote on the basis of such a tenuous thing…
Oredigger is the only player who appears both on the list of voters for Meeko and the list of voters for Ichini.
It’s not ironclad, but fuck it, what can you do?
vote Oredigger
Meeko, it’s likely to be both. Scum goals when voting tend to boil down to three things, in rough order of priority.
- being as inconspicuous as possible
- trying to keep scum from dying if the voting is close
- trying to get town to lynch particularly dangerous townies–that is, ones who are on the right track or who appear to be power roles.
You can’t really find scum by analyzing voting BEHAVIORS without also looking at voting OUTCOMES. Usually what happens is that when we catch one scum, or have a flurry of movement in voting that results in a dead townie, then we suddenly have the ability to spot others based on what we now can see about the voting patterns of the known scum.
So the scum will be trying as much as possible to both bunch up AND spread out, in whatever pattern they think will avoid scrutiny the longest. On the other hand, the more alignments we confirm, the more information will reveal itself in the voting patterns.
NETA : Comming this Summer, Rowan Atkinson in a new movie. Join Been as he swims to find the lost city of Atlantis.
That’s right, this summer, it’s Scuba Been!
[Ok, I know his name is Bean, but that wouldn’t work.]
Darn you Mafia voting during Price is Right!
This gets into WIFOM. Honestly, i have no idea. I suppose it depends on whether they have a kill preference though, even if a mafia is on the block, they might be reluctant to vote en mass for fear of being exposed if that mafia were lynched Tomorrow. At this point I’d be very suspicious of a vote swing if we saw one.
Having posted, I see that Scuba Ben already weighed in, but I think that’s OK; a two-vote lead for Digger means less likelihood of total madness, especially if Oredigger himself rides in at 11:28 with a vote for Chronos.
Holy crap, I’m sorry guys. My dog escaped yesterday and I was in Fire training all morning. I haven’t even read to catch up except to note that I’m tied with Chronos with no one else even close. I don’t remember the case for Chronos being particularly strong but I know I’m town (I know horrible reason but I’ll do better toNight and toMorrow) so
Vote Chronos
For my next act, I will predict the winner of the 2018 Super Bowl.
Wow, Story, it’s like you’re psychic, if off by about 15 minutes.
Heh, combining our last two posts, clearly you’re going to ACTUALLY predict the score at the end of the 3rd Quarter in the 2018 Super Bowl.
That would be one HELL of a bar bet to win though.
Must make it hard to cross the street.
Sorry, everyone, just getting to a computer now. I did not have time to re-read Fang’s case against Chronos as I wanted to, and I already said the **Oredigger **case did not convince me. So I willl not change my vote at this point with only a few minutes left, despite Zeriel’s hypocritical FOS on me.
On preview, **storyteller **made it moot.
