LOTR: ROTK trailer is up over at TORn - but for how long?

I’m playing it at the same time in another window - the site must be getting hammered, because it’s playing so slowly. It’s also rather dark - must be of questionable origin. Here’s the TORn home site:

The One Ring.net

Since the real trailer is online monday, doesn’t really matter.
(Its currently attachet to 2nd hand lions in teh US)

I’m surprised there hasn’t been more talk about it. Surprised they showed that much of her.

Brian

Yep, that’s a nice glimpse of her - deliciously frightening. Folks afflicted with a certain phobia are advised to bring a change of underwear to the theater.

I just saved it on my hard drive… now I have to wait over two months… dies You know I am going to turn into a slobbering mess towards the end, too.

What kind of LOTR fan are YOU?
watches the trailer yet again

Since I already saved it my hard drive, if NL made TORn take it off I would not be upset in the least…

Hope the real one is in Quicktime, easier to do frame-by-frame

Brian

Wow. Great trailer.

Nice helm, Miranda.

where is the link to the trailer? I cant find it on the site.

here.

(The site is very slow, probably lotsa traffic. If it doesn’t work, keep trying. The trailer is 14mb and kinda low-quality with Japanese subtitles. The ‘real’ (presumably higher-quality) trailer will supposedly be posted on Monday)

Here is the trailer in Quicktime format.

thanks lilbtagna and squeegee

All you Johnny-come-latelys to LOTR! I adore, adore, adore the way Peter Jackson is bringing it to the screen, but most of the folks running The One Ring weren’t even BORN when I became a Tolkien fanatic. Part of me is thrilled that so many people are finally discovering what I’ve known for [ahem] 35+ years now is one of the all-time classic works of literature, but another part of me wishes people wouldn’t act like it’s a new discovery and carry it to ridiculous fandom extremes.

Oh well. [She says, watching the trailer again.]

I saw it on the big screen at the movie theatre last night… I chose Secondhand Lions partially because I knew the ROTK trailer would be playing with the movie, so I’m a bigger LOTR geek than all y’all.

It kicked ass, by the way.

My SO and I went to see Secondhand Lions also to see the ROTK trailer, and I squeezed his hand so hard when the trailer started that he had to pull away from me.

All I know is, I don’t think I can wait until December 17th.

My kids freaked out when they showed her for a split-second. Such fun!

I don’t think I can wait either…

In my Science Fiction/Fantasy class, our final exam is going to be to go see ROTK on opening night.

Oh, and do some half-page essay comparing the movie to the book, but who cares about that?

I am a MAJOR arachnophobe. When I saw Arachnophobia way back in the day that gave me the willies. I can see myself thinking during that scene: Must go faster…must GO FASTer…

Since I’m a heathen and I’ve never read the books, I’m interested to see who is still standing at the end. They make a huge hubub in that trailer about No victory without sacrifice, No glory without suffering, no Peanut Butter without Jelly, blah blah blah. If everyone lives at the end I’ll be pissed.

Now all they need to do is find a young Holmes clone so they can do The Hobbit, cause frankly that cartoon movie they have of it reeks of cheesiness.

Sanscour

I am so unbelievably jealous of you right now. I don’t know if my school even offers any classes like that.

It should be up today on the official movie site, Lord of the Rings.net, in a very good format. I’ve read that it should be on by about 9:00 a.m. today. Click on “The Films”, then “Exclusives”, then “Video” – that’s where I’m sure it should show up in a little while. If not, I’ll be pissed! I couldn’t see much in that earlier trailer, because it was too dark.

Oooooooooo…that’s my kind of class!!! :seething with jealousy:

I mean, of course I’ll see it the instant it comes out, with Mama Tiger. But to be ASSIGNED to see it is a thing of beauty.
