Hmm, I’m stoked that (Spoilers, but I’ll write very obscurely, I hope):
a) Paths of the Dead is in. Cool.
b) Minas Morgal and the Great Signal Starting the War as the Army Marches from the Morgul Gate is in (woo, green fire, marge!).
c) The Last Debate is shown in the trailer (!)
d) Some of the Dernhelm saga (and it’s end if you watch carefully) is shown.
e) The UNtaming of Smeagol begins (nice touch, having Sam’s face appear in the water as Gollum schemes1).
f) The Ride of the Rohirrim looks awesome (but the trailer appears to conflate it with a later battle in the voiceover…?)
g) Minas Tirith looks just perfect – the city layout, the look of the Citidel. The withered Tree. No glimpse of the tower, but I’m sure it’s there. I’m curious if they’ll use Silent Street for the, um, dramatic stuff involving Denethor; I’d guess not for brevity’s sake.
h) Narsil/Anduril takes a bow. A bit out of sequence, but what the heck.
i) There appears to be some serious Oliphaunt action in the MS battles. Looks like the real action will be quite amazing.
j) I’m betting the WitchKing egress will be quite well done. This is the first centerpiece of book 3 for me, and it appears that Jackson is building things up for a very good almost denoughment here.
Lots more. I love the whole thrust of the trailer: no pain, no gain. This was (to trivialize a bit) the thrust of the bittersweet end of the trilogy. I’m hoping from this that PJ & friends will pull that message out at the end.
