Lyle Waggoner - Dead at 84

TMZ link.

At home after an illness.

They also serve who stand and deliver straight lines.

He could have been Batman! :frowning:

RIP.

He danced, too.

And he was Steve to Lynda Carter’s Wonder Woman

The usual IMDb link. (Note: surprisingly, not updated regarding his death.)

More than just the straight guy on the Burnett show.

One title stands out: Dead Women in Lingerie. Presumably one of those “… what it says on the can.” things. Oddly, in addition to Waggoner, it has June Lockhart and Ken Osmond in it. The casting director liked some retro TV folk?

Waggoner also appeared in Lockhart’s Lost in Space as a robot.

Last acting credit 2005. Figured he wasn’t doing well given his limited appearance on the 50th anniv. show a couple years ago.

That leaves just Carol and Vicki of the regular cast. Steve Lawrence holds first place among living semi-regulars with 29 episodes and Dick Van Dyke next at 13.

I remember him hosting the Bono awards on the Sonny & Cher Show, with diamond-studded front incisors. In the early '70s, that seemed about as far from being a thing as you could possibly conceive. Nowadays…

Also Jerry Orbach playing against type as a sweatshop owner.

he made a lot of money renting high end trailers to movie sets for big name actors.

More than that. It’s called Star Waggons. They manufacture the trailers as well as rent and maintain them. From what I understand they have a big chunk of the market. He started the company and his sons now run it.

No one puts dead baby in a corner!

Also, Maura Tierney’s only nude scene.

My favorite sketch with Lyle… bless his heart… you can only take Tim so long before you crack up

I was just coming in to post that!

Here’s the full sketch: The Interrogator from The Carol Burnett Show (full sketch) - YouTube

Nobody can resist the Conway Inquisition!

All three are gone now.

:frowning:

I really really liked him.

RIP Mr. Waggoner.

I read that he and Linda Carter did not get along at all. Anyone know about that?
