Hmmmm. Interesting article but the cartoon isn’t a fit. Madam Eve may be involved in an activity that is entirely legal. If she is a professional Domme (scenespeak for someone who is a Dominatrix for hire in the Bondage & Discipline, SadoMasochistic or BDSM lifestyle) and no “sex”, as defined in the prostitution statutes, is involved, her happy looking client can kiss her boots, have a good flogging and feel safe in that he (or she) is not violating any law. A note here. Madam Eve would soon go broke. Most professional Dommes are much better looking. As a matter of fact there are several clubs in Chicago where people in this lifestyle can go (see galleriadomain.com) to practice and learn more about BDSM. These are not places where ANY professional activities for money (this is strictly enforced) take place and everything is on the up and up. No alcohol but interesting “play”. There are also professional Dommes here (sorry, you have to find your own) and their activities, again if no “sex” is involved, are entirely legal. If you want to have yourself flogged in public, go to Exit on the first and third Thursday of every month. These are not addies but just information on where to go if you want to find out more about this lifestyle. There are also local chatrooms on AOL and many sites where consenting or paying adults can make contact. Again this is entirely legal if it’s done right. Sorry but Madam Eve is not a criminal and neither is her little red bottomed bottom.

Cecil is a perfectionist. He is constantly revising and improving his work. At some point the Chicago Reader has a deadline, though, and it comes before the website one. So be assured you have the latest revised version on the site.
