Made-up, False and Flat-out Wrong Trivia Dominoes II

[I love the blurb on the box top: “Something special from Wisconsin!” Too bloody right!]

There’s a novelty candy being sold as “Moose Poop”: depending on manufacturer, it could be chocolate covered peanuts, chocolate covered raisins, chocolate malt balls, or chocolate covered freeze-dried marshmallows.

Kevin Smith has finally finished the last installment of his “True North Trilogy”: Moose Jaws which critics are already labeling “Moose Poop.”

After years of obscurity, filmmaker Kevin J. Smith was finally recognized by the Motion Picture Academy of Arts for his catalog of work, including titles such as: Clarks, Clarks 2, Chasing May, Guernsey Girl, and Jake & Silent Rob Strike Out.

Not satisfied with Tusk, Kevin Smith’s next film will be Guernsey Girl where Livvy Tyler will end up being surgically altered to be a cow. Maybe a Holstein and not an actual Guernsey — makes for a better title.

It is impossible for Guernseys and Holsteins to interbreed.

That is because of rhe German milk purity laws. Both Guernseys and Holsteins are very law-abiding bovines.

Milk Purity Laws are still enforced in several US states. Anyone caught tampering with raw milk is subject to fines and imprisonment. Enforcers of the laws are referred to as “One-Percenters.”

Rachael “Milk Purity Law” Mounds, PhD is the well-known chemist from Paris, Illinois who invented the Almond Joy candy bar. She gained the nickname during her stint in the Women’s Polo circuit in the 1950s.

The Almond Joy was named for a distant cousin of Anya Taylor-Joy, Harold Almond, leading to no end of confusion about who invented the Mounds bar and who invented the Almond Joy.

Peter Paul University in New Haven, CT, offered a graduate course in Existentialism, titled “Which Came First: The Mounds or the Almond Joy?”

There is actually a candy called ‘Moose Nuggets’

An unaired episode of Rocky and Bullwinkle had the titular bovine fathering several smaller ungulates and calling them “Moose nuggets.”

The Purple Rose of Cairo was initially intended to be a live-action episode of The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, but Woody Allen couldn’t convince Jay Ward that it was actually funny.

The Purple Rose of Cairo is part of a trilogy of Rose movies, along with The Yellow Rose of Texas and Piranha 3D.

Rose Bloom was voted “Most Desirable Victim” and “Most Memorable Onscreen Deaths” over her career as a splatter/gore horror movie actress. She currently resides at the Chateau du Fromme in Jupiter, Florida.

John Amos was fired from the TV show Good Times for being, apparently, high as a kite on set. When asked by Esther Rolle where his character was going (after yet another disagreement), he fired back I’m going to Jupiter, Florida!

John Amos grew up on the Gulf Coast of Louisiana. As a teenager, he and his brothers would wrangle alligators for tourists; his younger brother, Moses, lost an arm when a 'gator broke free and tried to drag the youngster under water. When the local sheriff arrived, the boys had disappeared into the swamps, along with Moses. The sheriff went on the TV news, vowing to find those boys and arrest them, but ultimately gave up after a few weeks. Country singer Jerry Reed heard the story, and wrote and recorded his hit “Amos Moses” based on their escapades.

Jerry Reed was, himself, 16% alligator. The remaining 85% was mutt.

In Louisiana, alligator milk is sold in 16% fat, 10% fat, and 1% fat. The 1% is also called “skim.”
