I, too, will be up north for the festivities surrounding Lucretia’s commissioning next weekend.
Blatimore? Where’s that? You mean Bawlmer?
Oh, and since we’re sharing, Towson High, Class of '82.
It looks like the weekend of August 1st works well for lots of folks.
The next weekend, the 8th might be tough because of Aaron’s first birthday party at Fabulous Castell Zappo, and besides, FairyChatMom won’t be around that weekend.
If you decide on either of those Fridays, then I’ll just try to cook up another MAD lunch/dinner after I get back from Colorado.
Carry on.
Whoa there - this girls gathering is not intended to replace the MADinner. It’s grown to accommodate me, which is as all things should be! As a matter of fact, I’m part of a, um, unique group of women that has breakfast together on the second Saturday of the month - that’s been going on for over 10 years, and it’s a hoot!
Anyway, since this is kinda sorta coming into being because of my schedule, may I request a Saturday lunch? I’ll be mobile, so any location works for me… except mexican food - I can’t do mexican food. There are some good places in Fells Point, but Saturdays are kinda crowded there. Someone mentioned diners - the BelLoc Diner on Loch Raven Blvd is pretty good. Or we can all hang out on the boat, altho more than 6 would be pretty much impossible… Just tossing some ideas out.
Parkville High School, class of '72.
Course I meant Bawlmer. Thanks for pointing out the errors of my ways.
Five minutes from my house… this one gets my vote.
If it’s turning into a girls’ lunch for FCM, the first weekend and the third weekend in August are perfect for me - unfortunately, I’m taking a test for my teaching certification on the ninth and the SO will be here, so we plan to spend Saturday night and Sunday in DC, but he’s passing the litmus test for one of my college friends:D. I’m in Chicago the 21-23, so that’s out.
I would definitely love to drive up, though. I don’t know Baltimore well (I’ve only been there once for my brother’s culinary school graduation), but I have Mapquest and a CD player in case I get really lost - I have something to pass the time.
If it’s one of the above weekends, I will be thrilled to show up!
Ava
No kidding? I lived about 5 minutes away from there when I was a kid - off Loch Raven and Putty Hill. And, believe it or not, the first time I went to that diner was 2 months ago.
Shouldn’t that be Bawlmer, hon?
St. Paul’s, class of '85
I love girls’ lunches… or should that be girls for lunch? Ahh well, as per the usual I must sit yet another gathering out because I must sell coffee and donuts to the masses. Hugs to all with which I will be missing out on having fun.
Seton-Keough Class of 1990 (damn all girls’ Catholic school was fun :))
If it turns out I can’t make the lunch, will I have to give the hug back?
I’m down Joppa Road a bit, towards Carney. My daughter goes to Parkville, BTW. Go Knights!
Yes, it should have, hon.
And I grew up not far from St. Paul’s. Maybe I already know everyone here.
::cue Twilight Zone music::
So, are we talking about Aug 2 or Aug 16? And where shall we meet to greet and eat? I think we should all wear hats, just because.
Time to get this thing organized - date and place - vote now!
Of course not, you just have to get hugged twice as much the next time.
I could make Sat. night dinner but Fridays are out for me since I work usually til about 8 p.m. then by the time I would get home to get my car and drive to where ever you are meeting, it is well past dinner and you guys are half sloshed already.
My vote is Aug. 16th, FCM’s boat or Double T Diner (either one). Oh, and I look dorky in a hat!
Yoiks, forgot to post that the Wimmen Doper Luncheon hijack has moved here. Let’s let the dinner conversation continue in this thread here. This here thread. Um, I’m going over to the other thread now.
Let’s just do it on Aug 16th and we’ll call it the summer MADinner since we didn’t have one last month and we won’t this month. The 16th will give everyone plenty of time to plan ahead.
Also I’d also prefer not to do the Double T Diner, I’ve never been a big fan of the place, but if everyone else wants to go there I’m cool with it.
Oh, Goody, it’s the 16th, I’m back in! I don’t know anything about the Double T, but it sounds more lunchish than dinnerish. Since I don’t know B’more at all, I’ll leave it to those more qualified.
