OK, this is getting confusing. We’ve got two different things in the works here - a Wimmen’s Lunch on Aug 16 and a MADinner, which the lunch kinda hijacked. Not that I see any problem with both on one day. I will most definitely participate in the lunch and art museum in the afternoon, but dinner depends upon my husband’s work schedule. If he has to spend that whole day at the plant, I know he isn’t going to want to socialize that evening.
Anyway, let’s keep this thread for the MADinner, and take the lunch plans to the other thread.
I’m hoping dinner will be in the harbor area. The Doper Wimmen’s Lunch will be the same day near Federal Hill or on FCM’s boat. I’d like to park my car someplace for the entire day and use the water taxi instead of driving.
Any Northern Virginia attendees are welcome to ride with me if you want to make a day of it.
Well, we could try Victor’s Cafe. I went there a few weeks ago for the first time and it had good food, a friendly staff and it sits right on the water. It’s easy to get to, just follow President St. to the end. Parking’s a breeze with a lot right across the street and there’s plenty of meters that you can park at as well. The water taxi even drops off right next to it which would be perfect for Anita. There’s also a nice Irish Pub a minute walk from the Cafe that’s would be good for a nightcap.
I’ll be glad to give you a ride, but I’m going early for the Doper Wimmen’s Lunch. So if you’ll wear a dress and a pretty bonnet you are welcome to join us.
Well, the sixteenth is almost upon us. Alas, my evil job has scheduled me to work so I will be unable to attend, but don’t let that stop you from going out and having a good time with your fellow dopers. Since I started the thread I’ll be more than glad to make the reservations for the rest of you, but first you have to tell me where you want to go.
Here’s the list of suggested restaurants:

Double T Diner
Victor’s Cafe
We’ll do this democratically and whichever restaurant that the most people want to go to is the one that I’ll make reservations for. Hurry, because I’m going to make the reservations on Thursday. Also please post whether or not you are going to attend, it’s been a few weeks since this thread was on the top of the page so I’m not going to assume that everyone who said they were going to attend can still make it.
Whoa there - our boat is the site of the Wimmen’s Lunch, not the MADinner!! That evening, I will be dining with my spousal unit, but we shan’t be joining anyone.
Or y’all could just wait until Sunday afternoon and come join the farewell festivities for Lucretia and Bluesman.
Sorry to toss one more Doper event into the same weekend, but they only found out yesterday that moving day will be this coming Monday. Wasn’t a lot I could do.

Sorry I took so long to respond and left you guys hanging, but two events back to back seemed like a bad idea and I figured that everyone would’ve have written this dinner off anyways. I was going to post tomorrow that we’ll just push it back until next month on the 26th (a Friday). If you guys still want to get together on Saturday I can probably still make reservations tomorrow.
