MADs: Post-Christmas-Pre-New-Year's Fest?

All I have at the present time is a small french press, but I’m sure that we can rustle up something. Coffee is a good thing.

Speaking of beverages, I will provide a variety of sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages, (as most Vacation family members don’t imbibe) but everyone is welcome to bring whatever they’d like; especially if it’s Ginger and her sugar-free jello shots! Anything that will get danceswithcats to stand on his head again!

Jeeebus, I missed that, but I saw a picture of it. Where the hell was I, off in the east wing again?

I can bring the coffeepot from Mom’s if someone will remind me.

I thought I said I’d be in, but I guess I’m still an idiot so here, now I’m in. Unless I get lost on my motorcycle trip I plan on taking the day before.

Just leave a trail of breadcrumbs behind you.

He’s got a GPS, he should be OK…as long as he can figure out how to work it!

One week!

A warning to vegetarians: the chili will be chock full of dead cow. Please give me a shout if you don’t eat meat so I’ll know how many folks will need alternative food.

That’s usually the way it is, around here, but how did you know??

Send me an email a day or two before the party, and we’ll bring our 12-cup coffeemaker. Really.

I already got the coffeemaker covered, brotha. Unless yours is a lot fancier than mine.

Probly not, I expect. I’ll let you take care of that, then.

Never can tell. I’ll be up in the area, slightly busy, trying to keep out of m family’s hair. Sans fizzy, as she’ll be across the country in Portland (judging by how she talks about it, she’ll either be in the strip clubs or the 3-block-long bookstore).

Assuming I am there (I may be too wiped to go), I’ll be happy to transport dopers as I am able. My car will probably be stoofed full of stuff, so let’s try not to assign to me a small African nation to ferry about:)

Hey punha, see if you can talk your mom into showing up! She’s pretty cool.

We probably won’t be arriving til about 6 or so. Anyone who saves me a smidge of that famous chili will be welcome to a swig of our vodka!

I didn’t express myself well with that comment; it sounds like the food is going to run out! :frowning: What I meant was that the party will start at 4pm and go until the wee hours.

Never fear - there will be chili for all!

Ah! Thanks for clarifying! Now I can turn my worrying to the fact that I have not yet finished my Christmas shopping:o

At least you’ve started. I haven’t gotten anything for my family yet (that’s what the day before Christmas is for!).

’punha, for me, this year, the day before Christmas we’ll be leaving at about 1:30 in the afternoon to make the trek down to Baltimore for two parties, one with his family, one with mine. So the pressure to finish today is pretty intense. Also, don’t forget, I have three kids to shop for. Makes things a little trickier.

I had three kids to shop for as well.

The difference is that they are my siblings as opposed to my children:D

Anyhow. No idea if my mother will be tagging along. I haven’t talked to her about it yet (keep on forgetting). I feel sure I will be able to do so tomorrow, since that is when I am driving up.

See, 'punha, one of the things that makes shopping for the kids troublesome is trying to keep it all fairly even. Our youngest will be 4 on Monday. She’s easy to buy for. We kept seeing stuff she would love! The middle one is 12, and she’s getting kind of discriminating, y’know? And the 16-year-old doesn’t tend to like one particular thing long enough for us to zero in on it, and acqure it. However, since yesterday was Christmas, I can tell you that all three of them were quite pleased with their take.
