First things first, sinjin:

You’re voting for Inner Stickler, whom Mahaloth is voting for, and both are potentially serious lynch candidates. In Days 1 or 2, I’d give this a pass. Today, no dice. Do you suspect them as both being scum, and further suspect scum Mahaloth is trying to establish townie cred by voting for scum Inner? If not, how do you justify voting for both? By Day 4, I personally need better justification for a vote like this. At the very least, can you tell me which you’d prefer?

And while we’re on the subject of your voting history, it bothers me that you made the fourth vote of the game (for Mahaloth and Askthepizzaguy) in post 149, and didn’t see fit to cast another vote the rest of the first Day. In Day 2, you made another earlyish vote for a trio of people, and then unvoted in favor of Chronos later. In Day 3, you cast a one-off for Inner Stickler, who was under no serious lynch pressure, and then didn’t cast a vote for any of our lynch leaders again.

I took a quick read through your posting history in this game, and while you’ve given a plausible explanation for your absence (training, which I hope is going well!), you don’t do much of any scum hunting in Days 2, 3, or 4. You seriously question Pizza and Idle on subsequent days, but don’t renew your vote on pizza or cast a first for Idle, which pings me.

At this point, you deserve a vote.

LightFoot also troubles me. I had a solid case on her on Day 1, which as far as I know she has never responded to or even acknowledged. Johnny Bravo agreed with the case, and cast the final vote of the Day for her. While a Day 1 scum kill could happen for any particular reason, It’s not a total stretch to posit a scum team wanting to clear suspicion on her by killing one town suspector (is that a word?) and hoping to lead a lynch of the other (me). Coupled with his hint that his clue was a good one, and I could see that being enough for a scum decision for a Day 1 kill.

Normally, I wouldn’t need to go back to a Day 1 case and scum kill to illustrate scumminess, but LightFoot hasn’t done much of else of note all game. She cast a vote for Chronos (like we all did)… and disappeared. I find that suspicious as well.

Do you just accept that I’m town as claimed? This kind of bothers me. I could be lying, you know; only scum would accept without reservation my claim, since they would know I have no reason to lie. Yes I am considering that both Inner and Mahaloth are scum. They are the two who felt scummiest to me when I voted. I voted them both before and their actions/words since have not convinced me they are not scummy.

Now things get interesting. TexCat jumps into the lead. In response to a claim of Sherlock Holmes (assuming it is true, of course, which is definitely looks to be now) I would expect a sudden shift in the vote count. This would be a very dangerous time for scum to place a vote on scum, as the town is likely to be looking for a new bandwagon to jump on. I therefore give a bit of town cred to septimus and especially gnarlycharlie. Scathach’s vote came before the claim, which would have been a very safe time for a one-off vote on scum, so I count this as neutral.

Texcat chose to go after Silver Jan in post 316 instead of Astral when they were tied. A Chronos was already on Astral I count this as neutral. If Astral is town you can explain that as scum don’t want to be too obviously voting together, and the net effect is the same. If Astral is scum the motivation for a Silver Jan vote is obvious.

Pleonast roars into first. Previously I didn’t think that Chronos’ vote here was interesting, but it came after TexCat went into danger and it was his only vote. If a scum is in danger I find it less likely that scum would place a one-off on scum in that situation rather than a vote for town.

Pleo also gets on the TexCat bandwagon. Another townie point for Pleonast.

pizza’s and Astral’s votes for Pleonast here warrant close attention. These were critical votes that pushed Pleo over Texcat – I’ll try to come back to them later.

TexCat’s botched vote is mostly interesting for who she didn’t vote for: the other leading wagons in Pleo, Astral and pizza.

The dizzymrslizzy train comes out of nowhere. Astral, pizza and Darth are all interesting here. I took a quick look, and pizza gets off of Pleo, sending him into a tie for the lead at 5, and then 15 minutes later pushes dizzymrslizzy into a tie in the official count. Note that TexCat had tried to vote for dizzymrslizzy already and got the formatting wrong, which she corrected later on. With TexCat’s vote that’s enough to push dizzymrslizzy into the lead and take Texcat/Astral/pizza out of immediate danger.

TexCat finally votes in self-defence – after the deadline. Now I have to play WIFOM – did TexCat believe that her vote for pizza would count or not? As always, the only way not to lose at WIFOM is not to play, so I won’t try to consider that vote.

At this point I am going to vote pizza. TexCat’s refusal to vote for him is even more damning than her refusal to vote for Astral, and Astral and pizza both look to have an equally bad Day 1 voting record to me.
So, my todo items from this post:

• examine pizza’s and Astral’s Pleonast votes on Day 1. They came with a bandwagon forming and TexCat in trouble, so they are very interesting votes.
• examine Astral, pizza and Darth’s dizzy votes from Day 1. They also came at a critical time for TexCat.
• review Idle’s history against TexCat

And I don’t know that it’s even correct - it seems to me that most of GC’s votes have been at least a bit OMGUSy - his day 3 votes were all on people he voted on day 1 over the clue flap. The others may have hunted scum better, but I remembered gnarly’s case on me just fine so I double checked.

Yes, all were trying, in earnest, to get through through your skull and make you realize that was an extremely suspicious and weak type vote…and that the “joking” sense of it was a failure. I guess I should have realized sooner that you’re fond of weak voting that you try to pass off as “jokes”. : p
