Mafia: Conspiracy 2: The Cabal Strikes Back! [Game Over]

Random thought…if it hasn’t already been done, someone should design some Mafiaboards software that will reconcile the date/timestamp of each post so that in the post-game you can read everything in order as it happened, regardless of which board it was said in or whether it was a game-related PM or what.

peeker - I essentially scrolled the thread till I randomly stopped and picked your name - not because of your playstyle.

Um, hi team mate. Don’t be too mad, I killed you at least 60% because I thought we seemed damned townie. The rest of it was cause you weren’t talking much and I wanted more chaos in the game. And some other stuff. :o I kinda lost the game for us with that one. Sorry about that. :frowning:

Smooth move, Naffo.

I’m just so pissed off that I jumped the gun on fessing up. I shouldn’t have even questioned Nanook’s non-witch status. I thought that it might have been some sly ploy on the Witches part to try to draw out extra scum (wolves in particular) in an uproar if I’d continued to deny my Vamphood.

Hey, I’m just amused by how long it took the wolves to figure out I WAS the Detective

Hah…I think I sent Pleo my thoughts on this but basically, I focused my investigations on those that were quieter. I wanted to find confirmable townies in there…somehow I wound up with 3 scum in a row though.

Well, you seemed so scummy before… we were afraid you were a Vamp.

Boozahol, did you read the bit on the Wolf board where two of us forgot and thought you actually were a wolf? I’m not sure if the Town should be so excited about a win when the opposition was clearly so grossly incompetent.

You just HAD to bring that up, didn’t you? :o

Oh well, I made up for that inanity by nailing Hockey Monkey as a Witch. I really thought we Wolves were doing well until fluid and I got killed, and Hal got investigated, all on one Night. We could have been perfect until then and that still would have ruined us. Tough break, that.

You were soooo Vamp-y. :stuck_out_tongue: Much of the reason I thought you may have been a Vamp was that you seemed to be inviting the Wolves to kill you. Good feint, there.

Now that was a great play - you nailed it exactly with Hockey Monkey. Perfect analysis.

Man, we would have missed on the Witches, but if we had stuck to offing Koldanar instead of fluiddruid it might have turned out better for the scum overall. Hm.

Good game town! Congratulations again!

I’m just curious about the mass claim timing. Clearly in this case when the mass claim happened, it was pro-town. But would it have been pro-scum if it had happened at the beginning? I think maybe, because by the end the town had figured out that there was one of each role aside from the Witches and Freemasons, so it made the scum fairly obvious. But at the beginning of the game it might not have been as obvious? I dunno.

I think that if scum had just decided to truthfully claim scum at the beginning of the game Town would stand no chance whatsoever. I doubt it would ever happen, but it would be a really interesting game.

I suggested it because I thought it would shake the game up and because the scum might not be ready for it. Reading the boards, that might not be the case. In the final reckoning, It would probably have been slightly pro-scum.

It could have been so much fun.

Wow. See, this is why I prefer to be Town. I think Dopers aren’t very good at wearing black hats (storyteller and Santo Rugger being the exceptions that prove the rule)

Ummm… actually, as far as I understand it, we knew you were the Detective.

The problem was: you probably would have some protection. Thus we needed to take out at least the Witches before we could do something about you…

Funny, though. My fake claim (read the scum boards) was almost exactly the real “secret power” of Town. Down to the role who held it.

Oh, yeah. I totally forgot: Thanks, Pleo, for another awesome Mafia game. Way to keep it fresh and new.

I actually prefer being Town too, but I’d like to think that I can play a pretty good game of Scum too…

That said- the whole Nanook thing was a blessing and a curse. It would have been much nicer if it wasn’t for that kill on me…

We were going back and forth on who to protect, and I totally called it both times- i predicted my death (as we chose to protect hockey instead of me), and then I called the Hockey death too sadly…

If I didn’t die so early, the witches could have had both powers and then really tried to last longer than what they did… But we did find some scum at least in Hal.

So what’s the next SDMB game going to be?

:frowning:
Poor wolves.

Anyway, I’ve got a game that could work…only it’s not quite balanced yet…and I think there’s a whole bunch of people ahead of me…and I’d need an experienced co-mod since I don’t know how to set up a scumboard and all that.
