Well, we’ve heard from him, but I’d like you to explain to me why we should have voted for him if we didn’t? Letting someone die to mod-kill doesn’t reduce the town’s information, voting for someone who is going die to mod-kill seems like a nice place to put a vote without much accountability.
My reasoning is that there’s a chance we’re going to lynch a townie anyway, correct? Now if we lynch a townie, AND one or more townies get modkilled we’re really put deep in the hole. If somebody’s put forth absolutely no information during the Day and is going to end up dead anyway, unless the vote is for an absolute 100% scum I’d rather have the person that’s going to end up dead go bye bye instead to minimize possible town casualties.
Anyway, cckerberos has shown up, and brewha’s claimed Coroner which is easily verifiable so I will
Uhhh huh. And Redwing’s vote of you? After all, he pointed out the same thing that the I did – you’re calling basic mafia gameplay “scummy”. And the fact that I called you out on it doesn’t mean I’m coming to anyone’s “rescue”, I was just pointed out that your vote had zero merit.
That, coupled with your classifying what MHaye said as a “smudge” is enough to keep me satisfied…you’ve been playing long enough to know that neither of these things are true. Gutsy move, claiming “a” coroner, but I’m not buying.
My vote had zero merit? 90% of day one votes have zero merit. That’s why I would have been satisfied with a no lynch day one. Like I’ve said from the begining - we’re just guessing here.
How would you classify Mhaye’s comment? I said I’m a coroner. He said, that it’ll buy me a couple of days. Which is the same as saying, “bullshit - you’re scum, but I’ll wait until you fuck up to lynch you for it.”
How could I have read it as anything but a smudge?
cckerberos and pollux oil, when they got back, have contributed to discussions. This:
is Darth’s sum total of contribution last Night and toDay. Along with his meaningless vote, this puts him as the King Flake as of right now. So those people voting for cckerberos and CoG888, Darth’s a bigger lurker, and he won’t be modkilled.
Not to tell you how to play your role or anything (assuming it is your role), but you may want to consider holding off until right before Pleo is going to reveal, to give the scum less time to be able to use the info.
I just realized that I had misread this post originally, as can be seen in my wording in my unvote post. I thought you were recommending that he not wait.
Depending on brewha’s alignment, and the alignment/role of whoever gets lynched today, I suppose Santo and I are both right. There are possibilities for manipulation by the scum no matter how you slice it until Pleo reveals all.
So now that I think about it, I retract my unsolicited advice to how brewha should play.

You could try reading it as maintaining a healthy scepticism of your claim?
Just because you’ve claimed doesn’t mean you’ve made a true claim. You’ve bought yourself some time, in which you will now have to make certain statements that are susceptible to checking. When we have checked them, your fate will be decided. Until then? You live on borrowed time.
Just as both CatinaSuit and Nanook of the North Shore do. Neither person’s claim is proven, and we’re just waiting on checkable information to decide their fate too.
Pollux Oil, what’s the justification for your vote? I don’t think you mentioned anything about him, so just to vote out of the blue like that is weird.

Actually I did, here. To sum it up, he came in, said that he had suspicions of other people but didn’t feel “justified” in sharing them. Then he proceeded to add his vote for the largest bandwagon at the time, which was Nanook. And I might add, I don’t think he’s checked in since Nanook’s claim and his vote is still on him.
Well, I think that there are 5-6 wolves, more than one vampire and one necromancer (though I’ve never really thought about more than one).
I’ve said these things before, but I’m not going to dig up the posts.
A couple of things.
Thanks for the explanations. They are insightful.
IIRC In the last game we had 3 Cabal, 5 Wolves, 2 undead and the rest as town. What you are suggesting is that the town has gained multiple power roles at the expense of an extra Vampire + Wolf. That doesn’t make sense to me.
I completely understand about the vote
I still find you scummier than most but I am going to do a quick readthrough again to see if anyone else seems scummier.

Do you have his post where he mentioned this? I’m just coming back into this one after a long long time re-reading (god, I feel so far behind) and if this is the case, I want to take a look at it in context.

There’s people voting themselves and unvoting. There’s people voting completely at random. There’s people who hadn’t voted yet. And Zsofia decideds to parrot Cookies and vote for me? It’s not the agreeing that I found scummy - it the agreeing with somone else on such shaky evidence to begin with.
Cookies even admitted that she was only voting for me so that my attempt to fly under the radar would be noticed.
I see that you were sure to ephasize the ‘a’ in my claim. I am not claiming this way as an out for when the real coroner shows up to counter claim. I’ve been playing this long enough to know that any little variance or inconsistentcy will be exploited. If I had said that I am “the” coroner, and everyone else had a role PM stating that they are “a” something, I could see that as an excuse to try to turn things around on me. I don’t believe that there is more than one coroner, I’m just reporting it as it showed up in my role PM.
And yes, I believe Mhaye comment was a smudge - not healthy skepticsim. Claiming that I’m on borrowed time or that I’ve bought myself a couple of days is the same as saying that I’ll be proved wrong. Not that it matters. I have the most easily verifiable claim. I don’t see why anyone would even question that.

Ask and ye shall receive. It’s on Page 12 I believe.
Man, what a mess. As of this composition, I believe brewha and Darth are tied with 3 votes and a whole slew of people have 2. This is not good. We don’t want a tie, as that will lead to a No Lynch and we’re in a touchy place where one vote/unvote at the last minute could decide the lynch. We’ve got about one hour to work with, and we’d better try to figure something out here. Here is the current list of those who are in danger of being lynched (although, admittedly, with 3 votes as the lead, really anyone could hang, but still…)
Three Votes
brewha
Darth Sensitive
Two Votes
Nanook of the North Shore
pedescribe
Oredigger77
Pollux Oil
Santo Rugger
NaturalBlondChap
Darth Sensitive
Personally, I think we’d be pretty foolish to lynch brewha, since his claim is the most immediately tested. Same goes for Nanook, as we’ve discussed exhaustively. What’s the full case against Darth? I’ve made my case against Oredigger, but it’s thin so I’m willing to move if someone can convince me. If we can focus in on fewer targets, maybe we can come to some kind of consensus.

I think the issue with darth is his absence, after voting himself then walking off? Hell one of his 3 votes is still him. Of those, I would be inclined to break the tie in his favor to prevent a no lynch.

I agree, but think it’s six of one, half dozen of the other. The accountability doesn’t go away completely, because it’s a valid reason, especially for Day 1, IMHO. I still don’t like the fact that he’s been on the Dope every single day (sans June 20) since the game started, and says he’s following along (see quote, below), yet hasn’t really contributed. What the heck are we going to do on Day 9 when there’s two Townies and a Wolf left and the game is on the line?
Darth hasn’t posted since page 14 which was on June 21st. He hasn’t posted in this thread or in any thread. But, his profile says that his last activity was at 6:53AM today. So, maybe he is hiding.

The case against Darth?
Darth has voted for himself just to prevent himself from getting modkilled.
Pedescribe votes Darth in [post=9939412]post 856[/post]. pedescribe categorised him as a lurker.
Peekercpa voted him in [post=9939797]post 870[/post], citing pedescribe’s vote as the reason.
That’s it folks.
I have to agree though; if it’s a choice between Darth and Brewha, Darth is the better choice (subject to late-breaking claims).
@ Brewha : It’s Zsofia, Hal and Redwing who have voted for you.
