And I also wonder where in the world Nanook has wandered off to. I understand that he was a bit miffed about being rebuked for not posting his results immediately at Daybreak yesterDay since it was going to be a long one anyhow. But now, the silence is a little more ominous since we are on a much more structured (speeded up) schedule.
It would be nice to know what those durn witches came up with last night and have some time to mull it over a bit.
But that does not make a lick of sense. With so many players, being an early vote just gets the train rolling. I mean, maybe a me too vote late or middle but a vote to get that wagon rolling on a team mate not so much.
Of course, pede did kind of cook himself for all to see.
And I’d really like to talk about the one night kill. I think that there is some information to be gleaned from that discussion, depending on the participants.
I obviously haven’t been paying enough attention to the ruleset, so let me clarify: am I correct to assume that, ignoring redirecting powers like Storyteller’s, it’s likely that we have three potential roles with night kills: the undead (vampires), the wolves (if they exist), and a vigilante-type player on the town’s side? If that’s the case, it seems to me as if one possibility is that one of the three potential kills was blocked, while another killing role was eliminated.
Again, there’s no evidence to suggest this beyond my own supposition, but I’m assuming the likeliest scenario was that the vig (if we have one) or vampire was killed off.
But now that I think about it (30 seconds later :smack: ), it seems like if any of the killing roles were to be eliminated, the vig is the most likely: since the vig is the only one in the game (right?) that can kill the vampire during the night, the town would have to be incredibly lucky and either lynch the vamp or have a vig with the devil’s own luck to make and whack the vampire within the first two days of play.
So forget it- I don’t think it’s *that *likely that a night killer is dead already.
There are other possibilities, but the roles you list are the regular killing roles listed in the rules.
Assuming that they exist, there are several possible reasons why one failed to kill.
None of those roles are compulsory killers. They all may kill. The roleholders may have decided not to kill, or simply been unable to (or forgot) to tell Pleo they want to kill. If you miss the deadline you miss the action. (At least, that’s the way it was for the Wolves in Conspiracy 1. I don’t think that fundamental point in the rules has been changed.)
One of the roles may have targeted someone they cannot kill; for example the Vampire may have targeted the Vicar. It’s unlikely that anyone targeted a Scotsman, as I believe if the Scotsman survives a Night attack his role is revealed at Dawn. (That’s how I interpret the Scotsman’s role.)
One of the killers may have targeted the player the Witches protected (if the Witches protected).
If the fall in the number of kills in Night 2 was due to the elimination of a killing role, the only candidates for the lost role are Vigilante or Vampire. Either CoG or Pedescribe could be the Vampire; if the Vigilante is gone it could be either of them or Santo Rugger.
There is also the possibility that someone had a one-shot Nightkill as a special ability and, for some reason, chose to use it Night One. This would also (in conjunction with some other factor) explain the fall in the number of Nightkills.
Sorry, I’ve been incredibly busy this past week. I have a little time today, but after this post I’m going to have to head out again, my wife is coming home from a vacation and I have to arrange for her to be picked up from the airport and I have a tournament to run for MTG. On the bright side, my work project is ending this week so I’ll have a lot more time for this game in a day or so.
I have an interesting thing to report. One Mr. Diomedes was our investigation target last Night. He came back furry, as in a Wolf. Naughty Dio.
Well, for what it’s worth, Nanook isn’t a Witch. It will take you guys a couple days to figure that out, what with the delay in death reveals, but I am, honest injun, not a Wolf.
I suppose there’s no sense in forestalling the inevitable. Darth Sensitive wins his bet.
If any of the real Witches wants to come out and save my hide, I’d be much obliged, though. While Nanook was lucky (or crafty, in revealing one of his scum-kin) yesterday in guessing a scum role, he wasn’t so lucky today.
I am but a simple Warlock. It’s one of those roles that’s more disposable than most, I suppose, but it’s going to take two more days of Fake-Witches leading the lynches.
I knew when I refreshed the thread and saw a line of blue that Nanook came up with something. And just like ONK said, this will be a good test of Nanook and his claim.
Now while we have all this time today, I want to know something, Nanook: Why would the Witches want to investigate me last night? If I were investigating, I would have tried to test the claim of Cat, which seemed more suspicious when he came up blank with his investigation. Or maybe peeks, who’s become a town leader very quickly, but without any sort of role confirmation.
I have to say I’m a little concerned about two Days a gift wrapped scum. This concern got me thinking because of the delay of information we shouldn’t lynch any more “scum” that Nanook claim is confirmed. Just to help out discussion toDay I’m going to say that we shouldn’t mass claim untill there is a possibility of multiple claims in a day. As long as we are making progress with out large numbers of claims then a mass claim only helps out scum pick off out power roles. Once people are claiming then a mass claim will lock them in on their roles and will allow us to pick them off.
