Mafia: Conspiracy 2: The Cabal Strikes Back! [Game Over]

Hmm, a few things from me.

  1. Remember everyone it is just a game, if you start to get annoyed or frustrated take 10 mins away from the game and try to relax.
  2. Each side is only going to have a 25% chance to win. I expect this game to be well balanced giving everyone a chance
  3. Everyone is going to claim something. Each claim should be taken on its own merits.

So with 31 Players, my guess is as follows

16 Town - If only to prevent a mass claim on Day 1, although that might not necessarily be a bad thing
3 undead - Probably 2 vamps + a Necro
5 Cabal - Probably with some more hefty powers thrown in. They were wiped out early on as collateral damage. I don’t expect that to happen again.
7 Wolves - GF, Omega + others along with a Night Kill

So Night kills, I reckon on 3, 1 Wolf + 2 Vampire. Don’t forget if the Vigilante exists, Night kills and gets it wrong, he will night kill himself.

This is going to be so much fun :D[ul]

we’re still pre daybreak right?

Yup, strategising, but no voting until DayBreak.

Would you like another drink while waiting?

Well as we are still here, may as well have another.
Is there any difference between discussing strategy and making wild accusations and pointing suspicious fingers at each other, in relation to what discussion is allowed at night.

I’ll take several since I am off today - peekercpakid#2 comes home today so libations flow freely.

And I know we have never gone head to head on anything but…

I always read your handle as Catina (don’t know what that could be but it does but have a feminine ending)Suit, not Cat In A Suit. My bad. That’s why I have always had this vision of you as being penis lacking. I understand that this is untrue (awaits independent confirmation). LOL

And since there are some players that I am unfamiliar with and may be unfamiliar with me: I do have a penis that my wife lends me at her discretion.

Your not the first and you won’t be the last… Hi Idle Thoughts :stuck_out_tongue:

I added the capitalisation because it should have made it easier, but it never quite worked.

Definitely male here, though and Catina can come from Katherine but was in no way related to me making up my username.

I like that strategizing is allowed at night now.

Anyway, could I please, please, please beg our doctor and detective to be
mind-blowing brilliant?

The reason I mention this is that several games on the SDMB
have seen the Town hurled into terrible straits after a clever observation on the
enemy’s part gets everyone’s favorite power roles whacked early on.

Depressing as those considerations are, I feel I should
offer a funnier, if slightly off-topic theory I’ve been working under: inhabitants of
cecilland have spent countless nights drinking their fears and worries away, all
the while building that thoroughly unsettling sense
of paranoia that leads to some executions that, it occurs to me now, were largely
ridiculous.

Furthermore, the undead were not really an issue until recently. Seriously, think about it! We drink, the alcohol seeps into our blood stream, slowly pickles us from the inside out… hell, maybe if only we hadn’t wasted so much time drinking, we’d only be facing two other sides tonight, instead of three. I guess that doesn’t explain the Vampire, though.

We’ve been told several times that the game would be “bloody”, particularly if we had 30 people. To me that does suggest that everything that can be in it is in it, especially when it comes to night kills. A 30 player game will surely be designed to move fairly fast.

Additionally, there are secret powers, right? Are they likely to be really game-changing?

Night is like Day, except for no voting and which powers can be used. Feel free to accuse each other.

You would have been toast just a couple hours later.
Yep. Zsofia is lucky I was checking the Dope during the game and not after. And apparently the Lords of Karma have punished me for abrogating the rules and flushed the Lakers down the toilet. Do expect no more leniencies.

I still need confirmations from fluiddruid, Darth Sensitive, and Hawkeyeop.

Today will be a busy day for me in real life, so don’t expect quick responses from me. Also, weekends in general keep me from a computer.

Confirmed.

confirmed.

Confirming!

Do note, however, that the rules for the Vig killing him/herself have changed: if the Vig miskills, the Witches can permanently remove the self-killing by a single block. A lot of the other roles have changed slightly since their formulation in the last game, so it’s a good idea for veterans of this game to go over them again.

Ah, you guys did it in the wrong order. :stuck_out_tongue: Everyone is confirmed now.

Poke to friendly moderator-player: can you change the thread title tag to “[In Progress]”.

I’ll be out of town till Sunday, so I’ll try to read the strategery posts when I can get my hands on a machine…won’t be much from me till the start of day 1 though unfortunately :frowning:

Ding Dang, looks like the lot of us have checked in.

Hal you wanna get the Air Supply fired up next on the turntable?

I just remember that you have a scooter even though you should ride a motorcycle, but you don’t want to shift, and, IIRC, you got a cute pink Icon motorcycle jacket to ride in Himself’s sidecar.

That, and if you’re scum in this game, you’re going to DIE.

Me either. After last game, there were complaints from all factions saying the Cabal never had a chance. Although it was sheer luck that they were wiped out so early last time, and I wouldn’t expect it to happen again, I’d imagine they’ve been beefed up a bit from last game.

Also, I really like this speculation talk. It’ll be great to come back to later, so let’s hear at least one thing from everybody about what they think of the setup.

You know that no matter how much I protest the odds are, like, 90% positive that by this time next year I’ll have a motorcycle, right?

Scooted to work today. Saw three other scooters. I was the only one with a helmet. (And a jacket. I don’t know if I can keep up the jacket thing all summer, though.)

The cabal last time were both underpowered and unlucky. I’m curious as to how Pleo accesses the ratio of those two problems. If Pleo thinks it was more a problem of power, there is a chance that the Cabal will now be our biggest concern. I wouldn’t be surprised if they get a night (day?) kill this time.
