Since I’m town, I’ll determine what is best for revealing my role is, thanks. Spilling all would hurt town more than help it at this point. Don’t worry…I’ll be revealed shortly, everyone else will say “Gee, that was kinda silly of us to buy into such a weak Witch claim…again”, and you’ll be toast. The only question then will be if you were completely lying, or just got bad info.
Really, it’s an overall gain for the town, so I’m very cool with it.
The only alternative that holds water, imho, down the path of Mhaye lying, would be a secret power that allowed him and/or his faction to determine Roosh’s alignment.
not buying it. The witches have decided to turn Roosh’s death into an advantage by using it as a confirming datum along with the fact they had a guilty on u to share. Posture all you want, tomorrow we will have a nice warm wolf pelt to wrap up in.
Which is the only reason I’m not saying he’s definitely lying. These secret powers change things up enough that the only thing one can be sure of is that you can’t be sure of anything.
A friendly reminder that board outages are not an acceptable excuse for not voting. Avoid the mod-kill and vote early!
(Ok, ok, I might not do mod-kills if a significant number of players fail to vote due to board outages. But do your team a favor and don’t take the chance.)
That is certainly true. If there’s a secret power such that mhaye is being truthful as he sees it, and that you are really pro-Town, then we’re headed down a garden path today and that’s for certain.
The problem, though, is that secret powers could be anything, could mean anything. If we temper our analysis with speculation on possible secret powers then we will never be able to generate any kind of useable strategies at all. So secret powers be damned, I say, and full speed ahead as if they don’t exist until we find out that they do.
Here’s what I know:
mhaye has claimed Witch; and
Successfully predicted Roosh’s role before it was unveiled; and
Has not been counterclaimed; and
Has named you fuzzy Wolf. Meanwhile, you
Have offered as your defense a vague allusion to the possibility of secret powers while
Refusing to role claim in your own defense, in spite of the fact that
If you offered a confirmable claim, it would either net us lying scum (mhaye) or reveal something essential about the nature of a pro-Scum secret power. In this context, a role claim does not have disadvantages sufficient to outweigh the advantages, leading me to think that:
You are lying, and trying to use fuzzy (heh!) claims to get everyone nervous enough to not vote for you. I’m not biting (double heh!).
I’ll take “Reading Too Much Into Things in the Hopes of Confirming That One’s Suspicions Were Correct” for $500, Alex.
If CatinaSuit were what he claimed to be, why “Go Team, Go!!,” versus “Go Town!” or some variant? I realize that trying to mine meaning from an eleven word message posted after the player in question is already dead is a close-to-fruitless endeavor, but I’m just saying… I think CiaS is going to be revealed as Scum in the fullness of time.
I am interested and would like to subscribe to your newsletter. Also, lacking my original voting target (fluid) another wolf seems like a good idea…HOWEVER, we do have at least 2 killing factions still out there (I would assume one more vamp, and enough wolves to still manage a kill) I don’t think I will survive tonight. I would love discussion to continue, esp. if we can find the one that will be killing me tonight. (/self defense)
Ok, now that we’re back and before the boards dies and I get mod killed;
Vote Hal
I am inclined to believe both Koldanar and mhaye. Kold called my occupation correctly and while any one can call anyone town I think this involves the use of powers. There is no listed investigative power for scum in the rules so either this is one of those secret power or he’s one of the good guys. Now if we only get scum readings from one particular group I’m going to start getting suspicious. Until there is a counter claim or mhaye turns out to be wrong I see no reason to distrust him, he certainly hasn’t pinged my scumdar at all.
Cool. So, any other Freemasons who are out there, it should be fairly simple for you to confirm Drain Bead, or out an Omega Wolf, at this time, correct?
I should hasten to add that by “confirm Drain Bead,” I mean “in your own head,” not “publicly.” If you handshake Drain and she is indeed a Freemason, there’s no reason to say so out loud for the nonce. If, however, she is the Omega Wolf, you might consider outing her as soon as you know.
Got any opinions on priorities? Who should we be trying to find Tomorrow (assuming we lynch Hal)? Should we go vampire-hunting to reduce the number of Night kills, keep chopping at the Werewolves or try to verify Nanook’s claim that there are no more Cabal?
I think I’ll revisit that background stuff I was writing on Sunday. There might be a discussion point or two.
