Mafia: Conspiracy 2: The Cabal Strikes Back! [Game Over]

Seems very unlikely to me. I have to think that a vig intentionally getting mod killed would claim before dying.

That’s possible, yes. I’d think it more likely to be a power of the Werewolves than the Undead in that case.

I’m not convinced that he did give either faction a toughguy power though. I guess we’ll see.

One more thing to say.

Hockey Monkey, in [post=10014302]post 1627[/post], said this.

Let’s reformat it slightly. What about a drink Boozy?
If you don’t mind, of course, what with being dead and all.
The waiting for Diggit to answer the charges is making me thirsty.
Chocolate would be good too.
How about a chocolate something or other? That is correct. Hockey Monkey was the third member of the Coven of Cecil Cove, before her unfortunate demise.

Considering the amount of the previous Night’s bloodspill, the denizens of the village awaited this Night’s cruelty. And came, it did:
Oredigger77 is found dead.

Certificates of the previous killed reveal:
Shadowfacts and fluiddruid were befurred Wolves. Nanook of the North Shore was a member of the same mysterious Cabal. CatInASuit was a true Town loyalist. Also, dotchan was a perverse Necromanacer, and Hockey Monkey was a Witch.

Enjoy the new Day! It ends Wednesday, Aug 6.

Hmm…Mhaye, you’re the only remaining witch? And I hope, by that token, I can consider myself confirmed for the dotchan call?

So are the cabal dangerously close to winning?

Oh jesus…I didn’t even see your post MHaye. I saw pleo posted, and just got so excited.

News for the excited town : Coven still lives! How do I Know? I investigated, and got back a failed investigation. We can discuss it all we like about secret powers, but to keep it simple, it sounds like I was targeted by the Cabal. And probably will be for the future, until I die, eh?

Koldanar, no sweat. I timed it as close to the knuckle as I could get simply as additional confirmation.

The correct call on Dotchan goes a long way towards substantiating your claim, in my eyes. Adding to that, Fluiddruid’s alignment matches your accusation.

Yes, I’ve been alone since the dawn of Day Four.

That’s not to say the ghosts of my late colleagues don’t offer insight, advice and ieas of a Night. But I’m the only one left who can actually do the seance.

We got off lightly last Night, IMO. There should have been two kills at least. Maybe both of the killers wanted to eliminate the Warlock before he got them?

Well, bugger. Kill em all guys.

I am willing to bet they anticipated that curse being on you or I. So, we certainly have more ferreting to do today, and no one has been served up on a silver platter. I seem to recall a few days ago a case was started against Omi…is someone willing to revisit that? How about a few of our less-participatory, non claimed players? Should we be discussing that mass claim now?

A note to all the dead players who’ve had their Side revealed (and thus definitely dead): you’re welcome in the Forbidden thread for spoiler-free speculation. Or, if you want to be spoiled, PM me your interest, and I’ll give you the spoiled board address.

Hawkeyeop, the only difference between Today and Yesterday is that the Cabal (if there are any left) now know that they have eliminated one of the obstacles to their winning.

The Town need to think carefully before eliminating a Werewolf or Undead; at this point in the game, lynching them also advances the cause of the Cabal. We can’t afford to eliminate Wolves and Undead without being sure that the Cabal are dead first.

My current gut feeling is that the Cabal are now a more important target than the Werewolves. If we can identify a Vampire it might be worth the lynch, since that will slow down the remaining rate of attrition, giving us more time to ID the Cabalist(s).

Another reason to change targeting priorities is that the furry ones have taken a hammering over the last Day or two. My list says there are five dead; four of those are confirmed by Faction revelation, and Hal will be at Dusk (for now you’ll have to take my word for it). Additionally, the debate between Drain Bead and OAOW is likely to ID a sixth, the Omega Wolf. How many more can there be? Storyteller reckons there were eight Werewolves at start, I guess seven. There should only be 2-3 living Werewolves, and a Werewolf kill might take the Cabalist(s) out.

Consequently I would advocate not lynching either Drain Bead or OAOW Today, but hunting in the remainder. Excluding for a minute Koldanar (since if he is fake-claiming he’d almost have to be a Werewolf himself), myself or Storyteller, that leaves eight players to investigate; cckerberos, Zsofia, peekercpa, DarkCookies, NAF, Pollux Oil, Omi no Kami and yourself.

Just a question of where to start.

My investigations were (until Oredigger) targeted at people who were lurkish in behavior; I was trying to target one end of the curve, and get some quiet townies out of the deal. Instead, 2/3 (possibly 3/3) of those investigations turned up as non-town factions. Would this be a good line to start on, considering what has happened for me so far? Last night, I again went back and targeted a quiet-er person (in my mind). Ore was a deviation, since I did not like the cases that were starting to develop around him.

I agree with this, wholeheartedly. Whichever of them is faking it gets a bit of a reprieve, at least for now, in light of the hockey monkey revelation. Oh, and by the way, well fucking played, mhaye, all around.

With a mass claim, I reckon. It’s time, I think.

Sounds good to me.

Please, then, NAF…go ahead!

I would suggest a closer look at the people advocating a witch make a claim after Nanook was revealed.

After he was revealed or after he claimed? I assume you mean the latter, but just clarifying.

Hmm. One of the two was Oredigger. So I guess I just mean Peeker, specifically for this post. http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=10033623&postcount=1820

OK, if there’s to be a mass claim, it ought to be soon. mhaye, I’m pretty sure everyone is confident that you are really a Witch at this point, and thus I think we can trust you. Will you please generate a sequence of seven random numbers (1-7, no repeats) using random.org or a die roll or whatever you please? The numbers can be associated with players like so:

1 - cckerberos
2 - Zsofia
3 - DarkCookies
4 - NAF
5 - Pollux Oil
6 - Omi no Kami
7 - Hawkeyeop

Whatever order you give will be the order of reveal. A review of extant claims:

storyteller: Magician
peekercpa: Vicar
Koldanar: Seer
MHaye: Witch
OaoW: Freemason
Drain Bead: Freemason
