I have been thinking of reviewing the deathcount speculations I started Yesterday. I’ll try and get them done Tonight, but they may have to wait until Tomorrow. We only have so many things we can do, and deciding priorities is sometimes a hard task.

Damn, I step away from the thread for a day and something crazy goes down. I guess I should have seen this coming.

Clearly, I know that OAOW is lying scum. And this is one hell of a gambit, but if it works it’s genius. If he’s the Omega Wolf, he’s gambling that all the Freemasons except for me are dead. And that very well may be the case, sadly. With the delayed reveal, he’s bought himself quite a bit of time even if I am lynched–nobody’s going to know the truth for a while. And even if he’s investigated, he’ll come back Town. It’s a risky move, but one that might buy his team the necessary time to win this thing outright.

Heck of a gamble. We know of one dead Freemason, and you/OaoW would be the second. Of the remaining dead, I am absolutely certain that none of the quartet CatinaSuit, Hal Briston, Nanook, and dotchan is a Freemason, and profoundly doubtful that fluiddruid is one. Which leaves two players: hockeymonkey and ShadowFacts.

So you want us to believe that OaoW gambled that of the two dead folks who might be Freemasons, either BOTH are Freemasons, or one is and there were only three Freemasons.

Again, if that’s his gamble, that’s a heckofa gamble there.

Not editing to add:

And if he is scum and this is a gambit, it’s all in the service of getting a Freemason lynched? Not a Witch or a Warlock or a Seer, but a Freemason?

You suggest that he’s doing it to gain pro-Town credit, to survive a little longer, but Wanderers wasn’t anywhere near the spotlight until his claim, and was unlikely to become so. Your side will be revealed, if you are lynched toMorrow, come the dawn of Day Seven. That’s not “quite a bit” of time, as you suggest; it’s barely any time at all. If the Wolves, already down two players and quite likely down three, are close enough to win that keeping OaoW alive through a Day he would have survived anyway - there is no way we were lynching him on Day Six, if he had kept his head down - then there must have been something like 10 Wolves to start.

Nope. Doesn’t make sense.

Either OAOW is telling the truth or he is not.

If he is telling the truth, then Drain Bead is the Omega Wolf. If he is not then it seems quite likely to me that, as Drain Bead said, OAOW is the Omega Wolf.

In either case, that rules out the possibil;ity that Storyteller is the Omega Wolf; a possibility that has never quite been dismissed up to now.

One nitpick over Storyteller’s most recent post.

We’re now on Night Five. Whoever we lynch Tomorrow (Day Six) will have their faction revealed at Dusk, not Dawn, on Day 7.

Sheesh, Conspiracy, the game that plays itself. I agree that either OAOW or DB is scum of some flavor and odds on to be the omega wolf. Right now it does look worse for DB. Will wait and see what the some of the other folks have to say before formalizing that decision.

Witches, a detective and a seer sure seems to give town a lot of firepower. Am not as smart as the rest of you all. But it seems that it would influence the number of folks on the respective teams.

Brains!!!

So, any predictions for the morning? I would at least expect either me or Mhaye to be dead come the dawn.

That’s a tough question after last Night. I think I’m safe until you are confirmed because they don’t want to confirm you prematurely. The witches may decide to protect Mhaye instead of investigating because if he dies they can do neither. Umm . . . I’m not sure how to tell you this but I think you’re hosed.

The vamp is probably going to eat you because you are the biggest threat to it that shouldn’t have any protection. If the Cabal have a one shot special killing power they might use it on Mhaye to eliminate the witch threat. That just leaves us with a wolf kill since we know the vig is dead. I don’t think they have a clear target but they might want to kill of the real mason to prevent the Omega from being outed, but I’m not sure that would work.

Oh I’m most assuredly positive that I’m going to bite it. And before the morning I was going to have 3 bits of data for the town; it’s a shame that the vamp found fluid (thats my assumption, at least) otherwise the day would have started with my vote placed there.

It’s possible that the Cabal have an unstoppable Nightkill (one that can burn through blocks). It’s even possible that Nanook was telling the truth about the activation condition (two living Cabalists), although I doubt it.

But there was one of his claims I’m not prepared to accept yet; that, at the time his doom was pronounced, he was the last living Cabal. So I think it quite probable that, if they had a Nightkill that required two players to activate, it got used last Night. That would nicely explain the fourth death without having to invoke a second Vig.

Remember, Nanook committed his offence close to the beginning of Night 4, but died at the end of the Night because that was Pleo’s system. So he would still have been able to use a Night power he had.

Thus, maybe we’re only looking at two deaths Tonight.

Back early on Day 4 I did a couple of posts on the numbers of kills each Night, and waht we can learn from them. I haven’t really updated that in the light of Night Four.

I discussed Night 1 in [post=10021504]post 1689[/post]. I think it’s fairly obvious that the bloody events of Night Four, combined with the revelation of BS PI’s role strongly imly the existence of two Vampires in the starting lineup, and that Vampires have no reason to hold back on Night 1.

It remains possible that Redwing did in fact attempt a kill Night 1, and that his modkill was a way of avoiding the suicide. I think that this was a mistake if that was teh case. It would have been better to let it play out. However, the most likely scenario is that Vampires killed Brewha and Santo Rugger, while we all know about NaturalBornChap’s killer.

I split the discussion into two posts because I dislike reading long posts; I always find it easier if a long post with multiple issues is split into separate posts. Sometimes I cant follow the transitions and get lost en route. In any case, I discussed Nights 2 and 3 in [post=10021510]post 1690[/post].

Despite my scepticism about there being three separate Nightkillers, two of which managed to get lost for one reason or another, it appears from later developments that that is exactly what occurred. Hindsihgt is a wonderful thing. Sometimes it enables us to correct our misapprehensions.

I’ve really got nothing to add about Night 3. Vampire and Wolf kills looked most likely then, and still do now.

What about Night 4?

We had no less than four deaths. One was a modkill for the offence of editing a post. That two of the deaths were Vampire and Werewolf action is in line with the previous Days. I suggested in my last post that the Cabal may have fired off a hypothetical secret Nightkilling power. Since I have (privately) been convinced since the beginning of the game that the Cabal’s secret power was to kill someone and that (being the enemy of the Witches as they are) the kill could not be prevented by our blocking power, this seems likely to me.

It is true that, for a while (aka Day 3) I seriously entertained the possibility that the Cabal’s secret power was to know who we investigated, with a chance of getting the correct result. Those fears were dispelled Yesterday when Nanook claimed an investigation of Koldanar, at which point I reverted to my original belief.

The other real possibility is that there is another Vig, who used their power last Night. Can anyone think of another?

Not long to Dawn. I hope all Townspeople with Night abilities have made their decisions.

Warlock enchantment?

Yes, that’s possible.

However, our one claimant to the role of Warlock, Oredigger77, said during the Day that [post=10039664]he had not predicted a single kill[/post]. So if it is a Warlock enchantment, the Warlock in question is still well-hidden. We shouldn’t eliminate it as a possibility though.

How bout another faction having a bonus one time double kill?
