So based on Natlaw’s saving Mhaye analysis, I’ve started at the top of the list to look back at posts.
So far, I’ve gotten through one - Amrussel’s (he is at the top)
A couple of things stand out.
Post 239 of day one. He’s quick to shush Peeker when he mentions the disembodied hand.
I may be ‘reaching’ here (sorry sorry), but what if the evil hand were a scum role? I didn’t give it two thoughts before, but now that we find out that Mhaye was a disembodied Moose Head, it’s more believable.
For those unfamiliar with Evil Dead II: There’s a brief “Ash Goes Crazy” montage which features the Moose Head contorting around and laughing demonically. It’s actually quite creepy - which makes it memorable. But, it’s short. The Moose head is only animated for maybe 20-30 secs of screen time.
The evil hand? Several minutes. Once the evil gets into Ash’s hand, it starts attacking him through silly physical humor (well played on the part of Bruce Cambell BTW). Then, once he cuts his own hand off with a chainsaw, the hand is free of his arm and continues to attack him. I believe the sequence ends with a knife through his evil hand that pins it to the floor. Then Ash throws a bucket over the hand and a heavy book on top of the bucket. The book has a very groan worthy title. I’m not sure of the exact title, but it’s something like “An End To Arms”.
So, anyway, if there’s a disembodied Moosey, there could be a disembodied hand. And either Amrussel is the hand or knows who the hand is (if this comment of his was a scum slip at all). It’s just one data point, and could or could not be complete BS - it just sticks out to me.
But, the next post that stood out was #306 on day one. In which he actually quotes his own post #143 in which he says he can’t see how Macey’s fishing for mason info is scummy and admits that he was wrong, but tries to expain it away. Basically, he was saying that he qualified his statements so they shouldn’t count. He then says he’ll be gone for awhile and, to my knowledge, the case is pretty much dropped.
I don’t know why it bugs me, but it does. He said that he didn’t think Macey was scummy. Hawkeye called him out on it in post 294, but nothing became of it. No one voted for Amrussel based on Hawkeye’s post - no one really even acknowledged it. But then, Amrussel comes out, quotes his on Macey vote dissention, and explains it.
People make bad judgements. It happens. No one here (to my knowledge) has a perfect voting record. So it seems odd that anyone should feel the need to explain when they don’t vote correctly - especially when not really prompted for it. It seems to me that Amrussel was trying to act a little too innocent.
