I like detailed discussion of game mechanics, especially on Day 1, and especially in a game as complicated as this one. Such discussion serves multiple purposes: Help us to get clarity and to form views of how to test our powers, etc. But also to begin scum-hunting: We can look for “helpful” advice which is actually Scummy or, more likely, scummy smudging of neutral advice. (Or, even more likely?, scummy smudging of alleged such smudgers. )
Instead we’ve only digressed into finger-pointing about smallish things.
My excuse for not starting such discussion myself? Stupidity and ignorance. I do have questions, but they’re mostly stupid questions. :smack:
My vote on Visorslash is for anti-Town play, not Scummy behavior. But when I have not the slightest Scum sense from any other player, and the rules almost mandate a vote of some sort, I’ll vote for the anti-Town player over pro-Town any day.
I refrain from the bandwagon against Gadarene for one simple reason: I almost voted for Astral and it would have been for a reason much fishier than Gadarene’s. I would have justified my vote with
“In the absence of any other suspicions, I will follow guiri who has proven the value of his intuition in the past. Hanging on the coattails of a good scumhunter isn’t wrong.” (Had I gone this way, of course, I’d be on the hot seat now, pleading for mercy. )
Thanks Weedy for letting people know I’m away. The Internet access here is awful, but I’ve managed to secure access long enough to skim the thread on tapatalk.
I’m really not inclined to incriminate people for cheese puns.
What did pull my attention was choie on number of scum. The question alone might have let pass but commenting with dismay at potential numbers later started to look like a cover up. Apologies for not quoting. I have to dash.
I have no idea whether I’ll be able to get back Today.
Oh and on this – I’ll let Guiri respond, but I really don’t think it’s a valid challenge you’ve made here, and furthermore I think that things that Guiri has already said in this game should explain why.
Nevertheless having an item I don’t know how to use is not a regular Mafia thing for me.
I wasn’t suggesting any sharing of information, except regarding my item.
If someone on Town knows what it is and lets me know by PM (which I believe is legal here), how does that benefit the traitors?
Neither. My traditional Day 1 strategy is to ask questions of people. I can fully understand someone’s motives while still questioning them about an action. You also are forgetting that I’ve asked the same question of Gad. I originally left you out from that particular line of questioning (because you’ve explained yourself well so far), but edited you back in just to see how you responded.
Again, I’m questioning both of them. I disagree that it isn’t a valid challenge, but that’s neither here nor there. You can admit there are at least superficial similarities between the two posts, and I saw value in questioning them about it.
I believe I have not had the pleasure of your company.
I thought my post had a bit of useful information (plus I’ve voted, unlike quite a few.)
Please could you give an example of a post that did ‘speak to you’?
I have had my throat handed to me for NOT sharing information early, and for sharing too soon - different players-different games-
just admitting you have an item may cause you grief
Keep in mind you have no way of knowing the alignment of any player that gives you ‘advice’- in game or out-
I have no idear why I am awake this early ( almost 6 AM Saturday here) on the one day when I could have slept in!
I look forward to the shorter days – it may kick the under the radar players in the joupa(sp*) –
I understand the ‘bookkeeping” of this game mandates that our Mod needs the Nights to be as long as the Nights will be. ( the shorter the better for me thinking)
Different time zones and different work schedules we can all give/take /adapt as long as the end/start times are kept clear
*(sp)= probably misspelled
Well the point I was making is that Guiri had already emphasized that it being you specifically had a lot to do with it – and he has no previous experience with glee. So it seemed to me the question was already answered, and I don’t see why you would choose to make an issue of it further.
I’ve already stated I think that many of the votes on ** Visorslash ** seem to stem from playstyle and I don’t care for them.
I had issue with ** Gad ** earler but the votes dropping there gives me pause as well.
The other player that sent an early ping was ** Mosier **
mentioned here
There is nothing that that player has posted since that sways my suspicions
granted there have only been 4 posts ingame for that player so it’s all I have to go on *
** Vote Mosier **
My weekend is about to hit the fan… if I get blown away I wanted to make sure I got a vote in.
