Don’t feel bad. I have plenty of D&D experience, and I’m totally lost as to how it’s all supposed to play out in this game. I plan on doing like Inner Stickler mentioned; I plan to play Mafia, and I’ll worry about the D&D-related aspects when and if they become obvious and/or relevant.

If you insist.
vote: Mosier
Oh wait, did I get that wrong?
It’s serious enough for government work, though. If you must ascribe a motive to the vote, call it a bit of wondering whether “OMG IT"S MY FIRST GAME AND I"M MAFIA” nerves could inspire such a statement.
I’m probably going to miss most of this first day, given the timing.
I just wanted to make a cheese pun. ![]()
It should be obvious that this is a far more complex DND game than mine, and as I admitted over and over in my own game, I know exactly zero about DND. I’m not sure what kind of additional insight you’re expecting from me on Night 0.
I do have one question regarding your vote: you realize the “apologetic tone” was set-up for the cheese pun, right? Not two separate things?
Oh, for Pete’s sake.
Twiddling thumbs for 60 seconds …
…
vote: Mosier
The important thing is that you tried your hardest. ![]()
Jokes aside, there are two mechanics I’d like to discuss. I believe resurrection is a possibility in this game, given how explicitly our host has reminded us that dead people cannot post or vote. That being said, I think that indicates that reveals will be delayed in some way.
Anybody else get the same feeling?
"What are these writhing maggots I see before me, not fleeing in terror? Sitting around talking calmly, as if nothing horrendous were about to happen to them…
They must not value their pitiful, insignificant lives, or they must not be sentient. It matters not, for they shall all die. Slowly… painfully."

Holy cow, there’s a lot to take in. I’m with the “just gonna play Mafia” crowd for now; the extra D&D stuff makes me want to crawl under a bed and hug my security blanket.
I genuinely can’t tell if Guiri’s vote is in jest or not. I mean intuition’s all we’ve got for now, so anyone voting early is probably always going to base their votes on intuition. At least it gives us something to talk about.
With so many players, does anyone want to guess how many are likely to be Scum?
Anyway, I promised myself I was gonna do this the instant Day started and voting was allowed, so here goes:
vote septimus. Just because, damnit.
Heck if I know. Ask me next Tuesday when I have brain cells to spare.
Vote: Renata
I’ll start with her first. Then the rest of you.
Shush, grown ups are talking. ![]()
It talks in red italics. How tacky. I bet it buys its flails at DemonMart, too.
*** “Grown!?! If this is as large as you grow, then one wonders why you pathetic insects bother speaking at all. After I crush you and rip out your throat, you needn’t bother polluting the air with the annoying high-pitched whine of your tiny vocal cords.”

I’m here. Busy as heck for our first Day, though. I got the norovirus and am still not 100%.
Attack: Askthepizzaguy
Sorry to hear, Drain Bead. Been there, done that, got the puke bucket.
The game master made several references to a singular traitor, which I bet is misdirection. My guess is “more than one.”
I’m withholding my vote for now. But I have my eye on you!
Vote Choie.
There is no indication whatsoever that Guiri is joking about that vote. Guiri’s clarification–
–also does not indicate any jest.
To answer your question: a good starting point for guessing scum is 1/4th of the total pool of players. Depending on town powers, third parties, and other things, that number could go up or down.
Why Septimus, besides “just cuz”?
Oops, forgot to explain why I found that scummy:
Choie’s odd misrepresentation of Guiri’s vote, coupled with explaining to us that we don’t have any facts yet, seems off to me. Worthy of a day 1 Day 1 vote!
Because septimus has been scum in at least two of choie’s previous mafia games.
If Mhaye were here, he’d tell you that grudges are bad, choie. On the other hand, I’m perfectly happy lynching Mahaloth on the first day as a general rule so who am I to talk.
