[Mafia game] The Realm of Phere

He’s now claimed archer, having advanced a level.

Interesting! Thanks for toting this up, LightFoot. I know this must’ve been a pain in the ass. I don’t envy askthepizzaguy his job once Dusk arrives. Then again, his rules, he’s gotta live with the consequences.

Thanks Gad - forgot.

that was an informative= no substance post ( by me above)

busy ass day wanted toshare the tally as I knew it.
I’m not voting a wagon (I often Don’t) If you don’t like my case on my chosen recipient so be it.

** choie ** you were feeling/sounding Town until you said you did not have a scum read on anyone. Durn it when I am scum I have the same problem and get killed for saying it

** astral ** I considered voting you until the PTB triple voted you (I think it’s a scum ploy- but it could be a ploy ploy now since you were unvoted by TPTB)
This game is * different * ( but they all are really-right)

emerald ring to choie
blue pendant to Normal Phase
sapphire ring to Lightfoot

The only benefit of the current spat is I have a hard time imagining choie going off on me in quite this way if she’s not town. It reminds me a lot of De’endee.

hey! i didn’t say vote for a wagon. you assumed that because i said a vote on fubbles was likely a waste. i meant he likely wasn’t going to get lynched. he has been discussed but there wasn’t a serious attempt to lynch him. you can build a case on someone else or agree with some other case and voted for that player.

do you mean the current loss of hit points? i don’t think we can tally hit points as they are not public knowledge.

so what else is new with my play? i’m diesel, a slow starter. by the way, that wasn’t a claim. :stuck_out_tongue:

i’m usually even more quiet. but as i said earlier i have more time now and people have been calling me out for being quiet.

right. i remember that. somehow i thought was someone else.

Gadarene, how do you know your informant has contacted Suburban?

If you only have this knowledge through private communication, then there are 3 possible conclusions:

  1. Your informant is lying to you about contacting Suburban;
  2. You are lying about being contacted by an informant;
  3. You are telling the truth.

The way I read it, there is a 2/3 possibility that you are anti-Town and a 1/3 possibility that you are pro-Town and being railroaded.

And clearly all of those possibilities are equally likely.

That’s a good point. How do you know your informant is so trustworthy, Gadarene? Actually, how does your informant know you are trustworthy? Again, these backdoor shenanigans are giving me the willies.*

LightFoot, I’d rather be honest about my uncertainty than lie in order to appear Townie. Honestly until the last few hours I had an equally “meh” feeling on everyone, except fubbles – and maybe this doubt seems scummy but I just can’t fake certainty if I don’t feel it.

Actually I think the way I feel is reflected in the votes. We have what seems (to me) to be an unusual number of 1- and 2-vote suspects, even an abstain and several nonvoting members. I don’t think anyone has felt any great certainty about anyone.

** Double entendre intended. *

Before you voted him, Astral was in the lead by a mere 5 votes (only 4 if Weedy isn’t counted). You daredevil, you!

Did you remember which Townie cast almost the very first vote on Blaster Master in that game?

Is this a claim? You’re Dian Mu, the Goddess of Lightning?

Uh… We’re getting some awfully unlikely claims in this game. From the Rules:

choie, all I can do is be straightforward and relate what I’m being told.

My informant told me he corroborated my story (about being told about the extra win condition) with Suburban. Suburban has said nothing one way or the other. It’s obviously possible that my informant is lying to me, IN WHICH CASE SUBURBAN NEEDS TO COME OUT AND SAY SO. As for why I’m trusting my informant to begin with: I have a town lean on him. I’m allowed to have town leans on people and therefore think that what they say is likely to be true and/or genuine.

I’m not as ridiculously paranoid and untrusting as most of you folk (looking at you, BobArrgh). :stuck_out_tongue:

As I’ve said before: MOST OF US ARE TOWN. STATISTICALLY SPEAKING, TREATING SOMEONE AS TOWN IS MORE LIKELY TO BE CORRECT AND HELPFUL THAN TREATING THEM AS SCUM.

Is it possible that the triple-vote has an inverse relationship to the amount of talking by the person with the power? That is, if that person speaks more than once then the voting power is diminished.

Drain Bead had only one post, and her replacement, Believerer has not posted at all.

Running the risk of being silent might well well make up for the extra voting strength.

I did not say that all those possibilities were equally likely; I said those were the only 3 possibilities.

I don’t really have the time for a longer post, because real life got in the way. I’ve got time for some quick thoughts though, so come back to this post after my death reveal.

I have a very strong scum read on Normal Phase. Please revisit her posts after I’m gone. Most glaring is her tone while she was trying to discredit my entire line of reasoning as anti-town. When I’m dead (and presumably you see I’ve been trying to be pro-town), I hope you come back to her as a suspect.

Gadarene will look incredibly suspicious when I’m dead, but keep an open mind. I know nothing about Gadarene as a fact, but my feelings are he’s town. When I’m revealed to be town, you’ll assume Gad was saved by the Mosier triple vote. This is a fair assumption, but I’m asking town to evaluate that as just a data point, not a smoking gun. I’m advising caution, because I suspect a couple of people will immediately jump on Gad and I don’t feel that’s in town’s best interest. Discuss it before coming to a conclusion.

MHaye is still very suspicious to me, but I find Normal more suspicious. You guys will have to evaluate how likely it is that a scum Normal is bussing a scum MHaye, or any of the other options.

Remember my pairs, especially if Normal Phase is revealed to be scum. This would implicate Lightfoot, whom I have a tiny, tiny scum lean on for the tone of her posts. It’s nothing I could point to directly, just a gut feeling. This is the weakest part of the advice I’ll give you.

I still feel that realitytrip & lilflower could be scum. Please revisit them when I’m dead.

Ultimately, my lynch is good for town. I’ve been a confusing distraction, and removing that distraction will be beneficial for town. Look carefully at the people who are very, very sure of their gut feelings (like, for instance, Normal Phase’s insistance about how she’s “almost positive.”)

Because there was some confusion about my role, and in the interest of full disclosure:

I started the game as a soldier with several options for leveling up. I had 300 hit points, and I could take one of two Day actions: attack (for 25 hit points) and guard (which redirects damage to me and cuts the damage in half). I also had two items. Tomorrow, you’ll be voting to see who gets my helm, which blocks 25 hit points of damage from physical attacks. It stacks with other armor, so I’d suggest giving it to someone you want protected.

I’m now an Archer with 400 hit points. I can protect someone by reducing their physical damage by 100 points, and (this is kinda cool!) that damage doesn’t go to me. It’s just a straight up protection. I can also attack someone with my arrow for 50 points of damage. I was going to try to become a beastmaster next, but I guess I’ll never get to see what that is!

My other item is a green staff, but my elemental alignment is Earth. I’m guessing we can now safely discount the theory that items require a certain elemental alignment.

Good luck, town! And lynch Normal Phase toMorrow, please!

What a very eeenteresting post, Astral. May I assume you’re going to flip good like a good little townie should? Because for someone who’s so critical of certainty, well … yeah.

You’ll just have to wait and see, won’t you?

Psst – I still think you’re full of doggie doo.

/shrug. Doesn’t matter now, does it?

Vote Believerer

I wanted to wait until closer to the end of Day, but our neighbors just invited us out and I can’t beg off. I may not be back by end of Day.

I have a feeling Scum will be jumping off the Astral bandwagon, just to keep him around long enough for him to be the wagon toMorrow.

You strongly implied that those possibilities were equally likely when you said that in 2 out of the 3 scenarios I was lying or being anti-town.

That’s ridiculous logic. It’s like saying in poker, “well, I’ve got a 50 percent chance to win this hand – either he has me beat, or he doesn’t.”

I do think Astral is town. I share his suspicion of lilflower and reality trip at this point.
