OK now I’m remembering why SP was firmly not on my list of players of interest. This one looks quite convincingly townie, too. (And Septimus, there’s your mention. )

I’ve just managed to catch up with the game; it was an unexpectedly busy week at work, and we wound up adopting a new dog today, so that’s taken most of my time.

I’m still not at all impressed with the votes on Visorslash. As far as I can tell they are all based on personality rather than gameplay. I can’t say that I agree with the votes on **Gadarene **either, but at least it seems they are primarily motivated by his play in-game. If someone could actually summarize the case on Gad, I’d appreciate it.

The people who are pinging me most at this point are:

glee, whose main contribution to the Day seems to have been to vote and unvote **NAF1138 **twice.

Mosier for the way he ‘agreed with me’ in the post where he made his vote on Visorslash, and the fact that he hasn’t addressed the issue despite two people questioning him about it.

septimus, who voted Visorslash saying “But I’ve not really concluded Visor is Scum; I just want to make sure I place some vote”, then tried to retcon his way into it being an “anti-Town behavior” vote.

So “people”, presumably and by all past evidence including townies, tend to lock on to a suspect and suffer subsequently from confirmation bias. I happen to agree; it happens.

And yet this is evidence that:

So you’ve JUST said that this is something people do in mafia, something that bugs you and obviously not something you see as a scum tell per se. And yet a couple sentences later you are using it as evidence that I am dishonest.

Look at my original “omg astral’s scum” post and tell me again I’m working backwards, by the way. Tell me that was not honest.

And then you can answer my question about which of your defenders and unvoters might be scummy, if you’re so moved.

I note you make no effort to dispute that “defending myself” and “suggesting caution and discussion regarding Gadarene after my death” aren’t inherently scummy.

Something that’s perhaps gotten lost in all of the recent discussion is the distribution of items from our recently departed. As it stands now:

Normal Phase will receive the Blue Pendant that was glee’s

I don’t have any particular issues with any of these choices, but then again I’m not terribly concerned with the items at this point.

I disagree. Suburban is perfectly capable of having a Townie tone in either role; he’s a good player. But what he’s saying about me and how he’s justifying his continued vote on me MAKES NO SENSE, and you know what? Suburban is a good player. His logic not holding together is a scum tell.

Whatever; you guys do what you want to do. The lack of focus and participation is really disheartening.

Bob, what is your opinion of Astral and what had it been prior to the big bandwagon? I asked you that yesterday; you may have missed it.

Trying to catch up; I really, really don’t have time. I am working on a web site that will be launched on Wednesday, complete with fanfare on the Today Show, and I have been flat-out all day long. I’ve gotten this far in the thread, but probably won’t get much further.

Personally, I think Astral is Town because A) I thought his “Day is Ending in 8 minutes!” post was made in isolation (meaning, no outside influence from ScumBuddies); and B) I think his Last Will and Testament rings true.

I’m sorry for not being more vocal today, though I think all my posts last night/this morning should count double. Also I’m having a really weird experience trying to order a gift basket for a friend. After ordering the basket, I discover the florists’ number doesn’t work, the town’s chamber of commerce doesn’t answer… very scummy indeed.

Anyway. I’m still suspicious as hell at Normal’s behavior at having started the bandwagon Today on Astral, then jumping off, and berating the rest of us for being on it. I agree completely with Astral about this “everything you say will be used against you, no matter which response you give” thing. I ran nto this with her in previous games and it is annoying as hell. BUT she’s been town at least once with that same attitude, so as frustrating as it is, it’s not a scum tell on her.

However, since the only reason I was voting Astral was basically to be a good little Townie and do as mommy told me to do, only to see mommy do the opposite (“do as I say, not as I do!”), it’s time for this kid to go through her rebellious phase.

So as Normal is second on my list of scumminess, she’s up at bat.

I think NAF is probably scum because abstaining the way he did is a pro-scum way to gain a level without having to account for your vote or participate at all.

No; what it is is a null tell.

HAF has explained his absence. I don’t believe he’d use project deadlines as an excuse to lurk.

Voting just to level up is a null tell, because it ensures NAF’s side, whatever it is, isn’t disadvantaged by the loss of a chance to go up a level.
