Crys75, I would certainly appreciate it if you could verify him or not toNight. We keep getting tons of noise about 3p here, and I think it’s an easy way for scum to hide their intents. Verify sach, and we can at least move on. If he isn’t, it’s an easy lynch.
You’re right, it was just a FoS. That’s my mistake. It doesn’t change the rest of the case I made. And, quite frankly, a FoS from you is still a lot since your participation has been so low. That’s not meant to impugn your character - I’m sure you’re legitimately busy - but when your contributions are small, every individual action has greater weight.
Minor sidenote: I’m calling anybody’s vote on Idle a null tell for the time being.
Exactly right. It’s an extremely common scum tactic to throw shade at a teammate who has no chance of being lynched, so that they can later say exactly what you’re saying.
No you weren’t, but I believe you were the first one to bring up the meta-reasoning, that Idle’s inactivity might be a result of the role he was given. **Correct me if I’m wrong. **
How about building a case on me? I have plenty of posting history. Your “instinctual scummy vibe” doesn’t phase me even a little bit, if we’re being honest. Build a case!
And, do we know the others can even investigate? Did sach claim he could as well - I seem to recall he mentioned he could, correct? Seems to me if crys confirms sach, he would then confirm, etc.
We actually agree with each other. If you keep reading, you’ll see my response that I was answering a pretty direct question about the possibility of the kill coming from LUTHA.
I don’t care whether or not you like how I find Scum. And I don’t care to collect “Town cred”–avoiding the lynch is the goal of Scum, not Town. My goal is to maximize the expected damage to Scum even as I am lynched or killed.
Here’s a hint: Scum often play very well. They may show their Scummy intentions only once or twice. Find that mistake and you’ve got them. Looking at the “big picture” simply allows Scum to cover their mistake with lots of pro-Town activity.
Players say how Towny Thing Fish looked. Of course! Scum do play pro-Town, except when they make a mistake. That’s why the whole concept of “Town cred” is a waste of effort. To find Scum, find the accidentally revealed Scummy intentions.
So when I highlight a post in my vote list, it’s because I think that player has showed Scummy intentions and that I’m confident enough in that accessment that I’m willing to lynch them. To the first order, it does not matter what they posted earlier or later. To a higher order, I may change my assessments, which will be reflected in my updated vote lists.
Posting a list of players and stating I will move my vote to any of them to get them lynched is rather the opposite of “not getting my hands dirty”. I’m putting my hands in many pots. As well as explicitly aggravating each player I’ve listed.
In this post by Wolf jsgoddess on Day 2, she laments that she thinks the game is broken due to non-participation of players. I wonder if her frustration could be directed at a member of her own team who was not participating.
Hm, maybe. It’s WIFOM territory because it’s true - all of the absent players are breaking the game. The lack of participating players makes it all but impossible to get a multi-lynch and I feel like we have more to gain than to lose by using it, especially yesterDay, when we were forced to take care of Idle.
True, but they told us up front that the Miller would exist, AND they gave the Miller an additional power so as to make the role not completely worthless. A Jester is on an whole nother level.
Yeah, jesters suck because they force town to question its only weapon. Millers suck because they violate the integrity of investigations, but it’s mitigated by us having foreknowledge.
if they are Scum playing a game n us we know who the two of them are. and they are only 2 .
Until we let them feel ‘safe’ there will be no other claims
I wager the rest of LUTHA ( if they exist) are comfy staying in the shadows until their outed kin are dead.( and then only if the non-hostile aspect is proven)
I am NOT LUTHA, not crumbing at all. just using logic - well, my logic YMMV
In my early games with Prof., I felt that the pfui came off as disingenuous and scummy, but it’s truly a null tell for Prof. He does it for most or all town deaths from what I remember.
It’s also the game with multiple lynches which I’ve already linked. It was Mahaloth’s HoH (Hoople or Heffalump) 3. As of this writing, it’s the top of the dungeon.
I thought the other switch holder might flip theirs. It was just a guess. It’s the same reason I didn’t flip Night 2. By Night 3 it seemed better not to flip because the other switch holder might be dead, so the odds seemed slightly better not to flip.
Khameleon, are you using this to soft claim? Why even bring it up day 1, let alone again? The comment doesn’t sound good to me - like you’re hand waving us off. “Oh, don’t worry, I don’t have a power role, but look over there!”. If you were a town power role, I have difficulty believing you would even bring it up, unless you were full claiming.
