Ok, I agree. I’ll just point out that poor participation and lack of analysis is not unique to scum. A town person can also have those attributes. There are 17 players with less posts than I have and they all can’t be scum.

The opposite is also true. Just because someone has a lot of posts of analysis doesn’t mean that they are not scum.

It looks like people are voting to lynch me because of poor participation and poorly thought out votes. I honestly don’t think it helps to spend time analyzing day one posts and I think over-analyzing leads to more confusion and doesn’t help anyone. We generated nearly a thousand posts of content that is going to be a little value to anyone before any real killing or lynching starts. If this attitude gets me lynched, then I guess I made a huge mistake.

I think town people have to be suspicious of everyone. There is no reason to not to be suspicious of someone until their corpse shows up in the light of dawn. I’m changing my vote because not suspecting someone is an attitude that you can have if you have inside information on other players, or if you want to get someone else to trust you. I don’t see a town person doing it unless he is really confident of his ability to detect scum, or he is a mason. But I will take that risk since all votes are going to be risky no matter what.

Who are the “multiple people scummier” ?

I like Thing Fish’s thinking in general more than his theory about Pleonast per se, but it doesn’t hurt to vote with someone you think is town and see what happens. As for the Pleonast theory itself, it does make some sense to me. Pleonast’s comment was just bizarre. He will be bizarre as either alignment as far as I remember, but I can buy that a comment that basically says “hey scum, this is a great strategy for you” (no matter how useless in practice) might come from someone who is not thinking like a townie a bit more often than someone who is.

People scummier or at least as scummy: ToeJam – hasn’t done a thing unless he posted in the one page I’ve yet to catch up on since the time he set off all my alarm bells earlier. Lakai maybe: there’s not much to go on but there hasn’t been a single thing I’ve liked. Boozy looks insanely scummy to me. I haven’t liked Hoopy’s tone. Colby could be scum, who knows. His vote on Brewha was terrible. Brewha himself has not been great. Prof Pepp aggressively avoiding reads. Probably more I’ve forgotten.

This game is, save for its number of players, straightforward. Shenanigans as we would call them aren’t present here. There are tons of roles that could exist that I’m going to go out on a limb and say aren’t in this game. Vote modifying roles, Post restriction necessitated roles, recruitment… Day and Night modifying deaths…

I think I know what you want to ask… If you don’t mind me speaking for you…

The other aspect of shenanigans is the last hour EOD vote shifts- usually by Nefarious types - OR well meaning Townies with knowledge- but that is more rare

Hell yes. Probably not so much on the earlier days… But vote changes, claims, counter claims… An escalation of showing cards close to the vest, or ulterior motives revealing themselves will happen… Probably have to happen. Just not on day one… And probably… Not until day/night 4 … Taking the notion that Cops/Detectives should as a rule of thumb, in general claim by then. … And all other roles follow in kind soon after.

And I see you did address that as ‘fury of activity’- For me the two terms are interchangable. thats OK

I was giving my position on the current vote leaders. The bigger point of my take on septimus is that I won’t vote for him unless there is a counterclaim. I can either state the obvious and indicate that if there is a counter, I would consider him again, or I can omit that statement and leave it implied. People imply too much and leave it for others to read into their posts implications that are clear in their head but aren’t clear to others or implications that could be interpreted in different ways. I’d rather make the fairly obvious statement and not rely on everybody having to understand the implication. I’d also rather state it than run the risk that somebody counters, I vote septimus, and somebody else accuses me of waffling. So, yes, it’s a weak statement, but part of a bigger point about septimus not being on my voting list now.

You don’t know that it won’t be needed at the end of the Day, it’s not a runaway bandwagon so if you don’t plan to be around, vote who you think is most likely to be scum, and if that’s not the lynch leader, try to convince others to join you. You can still FOS other candidates.

Add crys75 deserves some attention for mainly one-liners, no votes, no opinions, multiple defenses:

This is only a vague hunch. I usually get a strong Town sense from Townie Angel early in the Game, but not toDay.

** Angel ** is Town scented even when they are Scum. I didn’t know the alter and even now that I do it doesn’t smell the same to me either ( worth keeping an eye on)
