*OK, friends, I’m running late and time is rushing by, so let’s get straight to the carnage, shall we? We got two dead bodies on our hands, folks. The first one - poor, ink-stained wretch that he is - has been torn to pieces almost perfunctorily. Sadly for everyone,
Enderw24, who was the Understudy (Investigative Journalist), has been foully slain in the Night.
The second body had been suffocated, which was nothing especially remarkable. It was the means of suffocation that was worthy of note. He had been buried under a vast mountain of cake - huge, endless layers of sticky death, raspberry piled upon chocolate piled upon cream piled upon, for some reason, tender lamb.
Hal Briston, who was the Hitman, has also been dispatched.*
Day Seven begins here and will end at 3:00PM Eastern Standard Time on Sunday, February 26. Please submit any and all Day actions by this time. One Town death means only a single lynch will be available for this Day.
SPECIAL NOTE FROM THE MANAGEMENT:
It has not escaped our notice that participation has been lagging a bit. We have attempted to be relatively kind regarding enforcement of the rules in this department so as not to bork the game, but we have decided that a more proactive approach is required. Thus, LET IT BE KNOWN THAT -
A general amnesty regarding participation is hereby applied to all living players. I don’t care if you haven’t posted in five Days, your slate is officially clean starting now. However -
Anyone who goes a full Day-Night cycle from here on out without posting substantively will be modkilled without mercy. The moderators will be the sole arbiters of what constitutes substantive posting; a vote is not necessarily required but posting just to say that you don’t have time to post will no longer suffice.
Thank you for your attention, and be safe around pastries!
I’m guessing this will be a relatively calm day after that Dawn, so it’s time to broach the topic:
Is it time for some or all power roles to claim?
There are three Masons and a Patsy who make an obvious pool for a limited claim. Obviously, everybody would be involved in a mass claim, which is a little like herding cats. There’s also LUTHA, representing a claimed pool of four, who have been the topic of debate since Day 3.
I lean toward the limited (Patsy, Masons, LUTHA) claim.
Since the death of Hal means there is no need to debate the merits of lynching a known scum vs a confessed serial killer, let’s place a vote.
Vote DarkCookies.
I think that she’d be able to kill only once per Day/Night cycle, but have the choice of whether to kill by Day or Night.
There is precedent in the public roles, as that is how the Investigative Journalist works.
(Bolding mine).
I believe that having the ability to kill by both Day and Night would be a little overpowered, but once per Day/Night cycle would seem reasonable for an SK role in a game this size.
The hitman role doesn’t kill it’s target. It only kills someone who is protecting it’s target.
The Hitman does not kill their target if they are unprotected. They kill the player protecting the target. The reason Hal was able to kill ToeJam was that ToeJam protected himself.
