ToeJam:
If you honestly want to lynch the lurker, then you got to look for intentional cases of lurking: A player who is inactive in the thread, but active elsewhere (thus proving they are not just absent from the game or on vacation or something like that).
I hate this kind of case, hate it.
Lakai v2 has been quite quiet. 5 days between these two posts, as if nothing happened in between - really no opinion?:
I’m voting brewha because I don’t like his explanation for the lie. I don’t believe it was a mistake to lie like that. It was a deliberate lie for some reason and because **brewha **is claiming it’s a mistake I think he is trying to cover up the reason.
Why do you think it was not totally unreasonable for brewha to lie?
I was suspicious for **Crys **because she claimed to save brewha for very odd reasons, which she now claims was a mistake. I believe it was a mistake because I can’t think of any other scenario where a claim to save **brewha **would make sense.
Lakai:
Is there a scenario where Toejam survives? If he is scum making a fake claim, then the other scum faction doesn’t know this and they will try and kill him. If he is town and claiming for real, then he is also dead.
Poor Toejam.
snfaulkner:
Koldanar - I think I have him mixed up with Khameleon, needs review.
Me too, so much that I’ve deleted all my notes for Koldanar as i was conflating the two. BTW, just Toejam, not a single other scum lean?
Still wouldn’t explain it though.
Prof.Pepperwinkle:
After we get rid of the 3P’s, then we can concentrate on Scum. And the other possibility is, the Deacons are lying, and are actually Scum hiding as harmless LUTHA’s. In which case, we win. What they are not is Town hiding as 3P’s.
I know the whole lynch the lurker then vote the 3rd party craycray has been raised, but this, what exactly is your plan, spend 5 days lynching the 3rd parties and then, once we finish, start looking for scum? Or this:
Inner_Stickler:
I agree with Pleo, it’s one thing to hold claimed third parties in abeyance while we look for scum, it’s something else entirely to recommend putting off looking for scum to lynch claimed third parties. If they’re non-hostile, we do nothing to further our wincon.
Svejk???
DiggitCamara:
They hold at least a switch. I am assuming that switches are held by members of opposing factions (to maximize WIFOM). Wouldn’t a reveal of the switch help us see whether or not a living townsperson holds a similar switch? If that counterswitch were discovered, we would know for certain if the third party is hostile, wouldn’t it?
“I am assuming”… “for certain”???
paulwhoisaghost:
It forces scum to take positions on everyone and prevents them from being able to suddenly shift their opinions without reason. It gives town a record to go back to and find contradictions. Sure scum are going to try to falsify their lists to their own benefit, but later in the game it will put them in a sticky situation.
This is the big one, having scum take a stance, any stance, restricts them later on.
How do you suggest we resolve this? Lynch them all? Lynch one? Investigate?
