Why are so many foaming at the mouth for me defending Idle only against the part of the case against him that doesn’t point to him being scummy and reinforces to him that he should continue to claim VT on D1 in every game?

How many more times do you guys want to start a game and have to have the same conversation were Idle is the center of attention and town gains nothing? Until recently I hadn’t played in 5 years… this is my second game back and I’m already sick of it again. Am I the only one?

Hmmph… sorry NAF… there is a lot to remember in this game, and for me, how you handle non participant mod kills isn’t very important, its not something I have to personally worry about.

That was before a mod kill, him opening several discussions through different mediums, and having a lot of people tell him that if he doesn’t like the results then he needs to change. He probably didn’t change too much, but again, I’m against the negative reinforcement of his VT claim habit.

Based on the last game, he doesn’t want to change. He wants everyone to just accept it because that’s how he plays.

I recall being Admonished/chastized for calling him on it as well last game.
**Idle ** is not Town, established [full stop] his level of participation is frustrating his team more than us likely. I may not vote him today but he will need to be dealt with

I was not originally on board with the toejam lynch, as I have previously mentioned, due to where and when it started. But I’m coming around. His reaction to my plan(which I fully realize was bad now) was not the reaction of someone being honest. How you go from “Batman can claim to give us more information that toejam is scum!” to “Batman totally should not claim just to save me!” is beyond me. But twisting someone’s words to protect themselves, or smear them in case of scum card flip, is exactly the sort of thing that scum would do. I’m leaving my vote on ender for now, but I’m open to moving it depending on how things go.

I like the pulling a *Faulknered*. My advice for getting stuff named after you- you gotta first pull off a ridiculous move, then others can follow suit. And you don't always get to pick what ends up being the part of you they quote. :cool:

:smack: Every singleton Town role is valuable because a false claim of that role can be counter-claimed by the actual holder. That is, effectively a Mason group of one. Unless you’re advocating a mass claim, there is no advantage to exposing our counter-claimable roles to targeted killing by Scum.

This is an important thing to keep in mind. I like this post.

My defensiveness/"shock" is not due to lynch the lurker, but more that I so quickly got up there, and it was a "lynch the lurker" when I was an active participant since I got the message that the game was going on- it was something where there are certainly lurkers or players who aren't here around, but I would not classify myself as lurking- hence my upsetness at it.

If you honestly want to lynch the lurker, then you got to look for intentional cases of lurking: A player who is inactive in the thread, but active elsewhere (thus proving they are not just absent from the game or on vacation or something like that).

For that, and the MetaGameLogic that yeah- Idle tends to partipate more than he has been doing, but hates being scum; as well as being one of the people who dropped a vote on me, and then just walked away from it, but it was an easy vote to make and take no heat on by just claiming it’s a D1 follow up:
