OOG: Thanks. To be fair, I wish I hadn’t said (now) that I was staying in just to piss people off. It was a bad choice of words. Not that I think it will change anything.
In short, (back in game talk) it really doesn’t matter anyway…I’ll be lynched and out of the game and everyone will be happy. Seems to me people are just unhappy because their logic is “If you really wanted to be out of the game, why not be mod killed, if you’re town that’s what would be best to do”…but my logic is this: If I’m really Town, then lynching me is just as bad. Seriously, ask yourself…are you voting for me because you REALLY, SINCERELY believe I’m scum, 100 percent…and that I’m the BEST person to lynch today?
Or is it more so just because you’re annoyed with me at the moment and vote for me to spite me wanting to stay in now?
I think it’s MORE so for the second reason than you (and others) would want to admit.
I’m Town…okay? And I want to play now. And I’m sorry I said I was going to piss off people…but I had frustration too what with everyone voting for me for meta reasons.
I’m very seriously confused by this. I’m reacting in real time and in my memory I’ve been consistently FOR his lynch today. And against him being modkilled, because we already had one modkill of town today.
My opinion on this changed when he started this act over the past two hours. I think anyone who behaves like that should be modkilled as policy. And since we were just told that’s not happening today, I think he should be lynched.
If you’re saying I agreed he should be modkilled before all of this, I genuinely don’t remember it, but my guess would be that this was well before Red Skeezix was modkilled.

Still have the flu. Still being quiet. I am reading everything.
I agree that Idle is suddenly making a lot of noise. Interesting that. Could he be taking heat off of a buddy? Possibly. Could his team have decided they don’t want to lose something that he holds? (I wonder where that other Batman switch is exactly.) Is he just being a dog in a manger about the whole thing? It’s his party and the rest of us are here to play on his sufferance.
FTR, I think that ToeJam’s story is stinkier than fish after 3 days. I agree there’s no need for a counter-claim.
But this game isn’t working correctly. Mainly due to the sheer number of players who can’t keep up. I don’t blame them, but if they can’t play then either they need to be removed, or the game is broken. To ask the rest of us to play as we normally would while dealing with a huge pool of lurkers is absurd. We can’t assess them and lynching them requires that we not lynch people who have been playing. You want this game to continue, you can’t expect town to either lynch all the lurkers or leave them to end game, and you can’t expect scum to use their kill on players that are no threat to them. And if LUTHA exists, it severely incentivizes them to not participate and just post once a cycle to prevent modkill. All of which adds up to a broken game IMO. If we can’t dismiss non participants and let them be removed from the game, then this is no longer mafia, this is some bastardized version that requires town to remove the nonplayers before hunting scum or end up at end game with a bunch of scum and a bunch of people not playing.
Me too that is why I voted him I’m dealing with the extreme pain and fever associated with an abcessed tooth. I’m now on antibiotics so hopefully I will be feeling better soon. Also no longer on the narcotic pills. I need to go back through day 2 but come on exactly 4 posts in each section of the thread and always seems to be around at end of day. I’m not buying it
Town NEEDS to find scum today. Lynching me doesn’t bring you any closer to towns wincon. However I’m still willing to.die to put the Lutha in a better position.
I’m out… this goes beyond game logic. This has ceases being mafia and has turned into the Idle show. I’m happy with my participation toDay and with the leans/suspicions I have provided town to assess my alignment by… I will not feed Idle’s need for attention. I’m happy with my vote for now and will consider all the facts of the aftermath following his reveal. I’ve got better things to do than to continue reading nonsense and superior lectures. I’ll be back on Saturday night/ Sunday morning to check on things, until then I need to get away from all of this and clear my head.
I’d like to believe this would be the case, but it probably won’t be. Next game you’ll probably think I’m suspicious YET again, based on no or weak reasoning, and vote for me even though I’m Town in that game too. This will be twice now you’ve voted for me SO SURE I must be scum, when–in fact–I’m town. I’m sure it’ll be three for three someday.
You know what’s funny, though? I was SO sure you were actually one of the ones who was strongly Town, Paul…because you were one of the lone hold outs in regards to voting for me… but then you go and do it anyway as soon as I come back and post again, which just boggles my mind.
So even though I still have a town read on you, it’s much, much more unsure and weak than as strong as it was before your vote for me. Before your vote, you were actually making sense for once in all of your posts. I think you’re letting your past irritation of me color your thoughts into misguided ones.
Hey Prof. thanks for the help! My request was a bit more specific, though. One of the key things I wanted to know was if there was a dropoff in general casemaking in the latter half of Day 2. Did you notice anything like that while rereading?
I can certainly see wanting to vote for Idle, but his behavior is just so weird that I’m not sure it’s alignment indicative.
If I had to guess, Toejam is probably lying scum, but the real doc shouldn’t counterclaim until we’re much closer to endgame; most likely the real doc will get killed in the course of events and then we can lynch ToeJam. Obviously he is off limits for voting until then.
Prof I think is probably just Town getting heat for playing poorly, but he did vote for brewha, so I think for Today I’d prefer to lynch him over Idle. And although I’m not too moved by the theory that Idle is trying to protect him, if you believe that it would be more logical to vote for Prof and adjust your suspicion of Idle based on the flip.
I did a reread on Khameleon. I don’t have time to do a full WoW right now (not that it would take long, his first post Today just took him all the way up to 13 posts), but it’s almost all fluff and discussion of game mechanics. He didn’t vote Day One and voted for Brewha Day Two.
So, I’ll try to get some traction going on someone I think is scummier than either of the two current front-runners:
